YOTEL was a very convenient homebase to explore Edinburgh - right on the edge of New Town, so a short walk from all the sights, but not so central as to be noisy or stressful to get to with suitcases. The rooms are a bit small with not a lot of space for unpacking, but their idea of having a bed that folds during the day helps.
The room was cool! The backlighting was a modern and fun touch, and the overall hotel was very unique- the mini store located inside was incredibly convenient. The hotel was clean and had everything we needed, as well as some cool additions such as bottle openers in the rooms.
The room was definitely spacious when the bed was in a more upright position. This said, the pillows were a bit flat- even with two, it was still very flat, and the mattress wasnt the most comfortable I've ever slept on. It was doable for a few nights and overall I'd stay here again; everything was very walkable, the hotel was clean, the area felt safe, and checking in and out was seamless.
Our room fridge was hot. We had bought a couple of things that needed to be refrigerated. We got ice from the bar. Worked ok. Nice coffee and tea available 24 hrs. Delicious enough!
Great location. Close to attractions and many dining options available.

Traveled as couple. Air conditioning is sub par & turns OFF by itself - annoying. It’s a good hotel if you don’t plan on spending much time in the room. As for our next Edinburgh trip we will likely look elsewhere but it did the job this time around.
Modern accommodations but a little too automated for my taste. Check in person didn't acknowledge our VIP status. Room temperature control wasn't effective so woke up in a sweat. No place to hang a towel when you're in the shower. Breakfast was a little disappointing with powdered scrambled eggs. Breakfast staff a little surly.
On the plus side the room was large and comfortable. And the location was excellent for dining and shopping options.
Expensive compared to all our other rooms on our Scotland Ireland trip. Pillows not comfortable, no chair in room, no coffee, no water. Lights either all on or all off. Coffee in lobby was not working most of the time. Chaos in the lobby at check in. Check in machine did not work. Would never stay here again.
We were at the Yotel in Edinburgh for 2 days of our 10day trip. Reception was nice and we were allowed to check in early which was a big plus. Room was clean but there wasn’t enough room for our 2 carry on suitcases . Would have been nice to have a luggage rack. Shower was nice and hot but the door leaked and we had to use extra towels to mop up after every shower.
Bed was comfortable. Location was great in a quiet area but close walking to nice restaurants and places of interest.Having the convenience items was nice in the lobby but items were clearly overpriced. Overall we liked it and would stay there again if we came back to Edinburgh
