Prospector Miners Cabin
This is a great peaceful getaway we have 4 cabins on 17 acres bordering the national Forest with full kitchens. If your looking for a peaceful getaway from the everyday this is a great place located 5 miles outside the town of Elk City
Perfect little cabin for a remote getaway just outside of Elk City. Everything was as expected and our small family enjoyed it and will definitely be returning!
Perfect property for a short weekend of deer hunting. Pretty clean, neat, and cozy. We were able to watch our favorite movies and football teamsâ games via the smart tv. The only drawbacks were dead flies (time of year), and a shower that didnât work so had to take a bath.
Overall, the property was great and easy to book/find.
It was perfect for our trip. Out of the way and so quiet. The little town was so cute. Communication with the owner was outstanding. Thank you again for making our vacation so memorable.
Pilot lights were out so the cabin smelled like gas.
Dirty dishes in the sink when we arrived
Dirty towels in hamper which left us short a towel
Garbage still in can when we arrived
Coffee expired in 2020
This is a rustic cabin in a quiet, countryside area.
We arrived to find the 3 pilots on the stove out and the cabin full of propane fumes. We had to open all the doors and windows and let it air out before we could go in. On relighting the stove pilots, it looked like the inside of the stove, and under the stovetop and oven areas hadnt been cleaned in ages. Disgusting.
There is a serious fly problem in this cabin. Every night when we returned to the cabin we killed 20 or more flys upon entering. Within an hour we were killing more. This went on for the whole week we were there. This is not normal and my guess is there's probably something d_ _ d somewhere. We talked with the other cabin occupants and they were not having the same fly issue.
The kitchen cabinets could use new shelf paper, its pretty old looking and stained. The silverware does not have a drawer or container to keep it in. Its simply laid on the heavily stained shelf paper under the cabinent top.
The cabin is overall comfortable, and the wifi and cable were nice features. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathroom nice. With a through cleaning and elimination of the flys it could be quite nice.
The only problem I had was the check in process. I believe this is a VRBO problem. Let me explain. I made the reservation and received the confirmation. The confirmation did not contain any address of the property or the door code. We were traveling in areas that had no internet access. Because I knew where the property was from a previous stay 21 years ago I arrived at the property with no idea how to get in. So back to Elk City I rode to get a wifi connection. This time when I logged in, viola, there was the information I needed. Maybe I missed something along the way. In any event once I got the check in information the rest of the stay was great! I the property was exactly what I expected, but remember I was there 21 years ago. Great Cabin setting 5 miles outside of Elk City, Idaho.
This was our second year staying at the same cabin and it didnât disappoint again. Very cozy and home like. We will back every year for a remote Elk city getaway
Property management was great! Check-in was easy, check-out was easy, cabins are well appointed, not fancy, but completely adequate and the location is great! Made it in and out with lots of snow, driveway was plowed, steps were cleared and heat was on when we arrived. Great Job Earl and Citrina, thanks so much!
This was an amazing cabin! Pretty close to the red river hot springs! It was super clean! The locals are so nice. And the man who lived on the property helped guide us to exactly where we needed to go. 10/10 would recommend. And you literally cannot beat the price! I recommend visiting the local VFW itâs a very nice bar open to the public and GREAT breakfast!
