Modern luxury creekside retreat

The Playground provides an elevated vacation experience that is unmatched in this area. Located just 1.5 miles from one of the southeast’s most scenic lakes- Carter’s Lake and only minutes from some of Ellijay’s most beautiful vineyards, apple houses, and less than a 20 minute drive from downtown Ellijay. The home is also conveniently located just 1.5 hours north of Atlanta and 1.5 hours south of Chattanooga. This location is simply- prime!

INSIDE:
This home was custom-built with so much love and attention to detail. You will enter the home on the main level. Walking in your eyes are immediately drawn to the large windows overlooking the woods and creek. We have an open concept kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need to cook and enjoy a meal on the large dining table (seats 10). A unique, double sided gas fireplace separates the area entering the living space which is complete with balcony access, gas grill, and smart tv. Bedroom 1 is located on the main floor which boasts private balcony and bathroom with walk in shower and walk-in closet.
There is also a half bath on the main level.
Downstairs you will love the common area to lounge, watch some TV, or play games which includes air hockey, arcade games, and board games. The downstairs modular couch can convert into a bed to accommodate 2 guests (perfect for kids). We also have a laundry room with washer and dryer. Bedroom 2 features a private balcony and en suite bathroom with walk in shower. Bedroom 3 boasts a private balcony and shared bathroom with walk-in shower.

OUTSIDE:
Upon pulling up to the house you’ll immediately notice the unique design elements incorporated that were inspired by the naturally beautiful surroundings-hand stacked stone, woods, metal-coming together to form something amazing. We want our guests to feel immersed in the setting that makes Ellijay so special.

Guests are free to explore the large property surrounding the home which includes private access to Harris Creek! The only other home in site is our creeksdie tiny home, “The Treehouse.” Also available to rent or add on. Once finished taking in all that the creek has to offer, enjoy time around the fire pit or grilling out on the balcony overlooking the dense forest.

There really is something so captivating about this spot. We are so excited for you to have fun and make memories at THE PLAYGROUND!

Things to Improve on

Porch chairs need replacing badly. The main floor couch, though inviting, finds one challenged to sit up. Same with game room. MBR chair is optimal. Wireless does not support streaming services well. Excellent kitchen, dining, stove, fridge, appliances. DR table with view very nice. Need to convert cleaning closet into pantry for guests supplies. Proximity to main road a little off putting. Bedrooms were spacious and clean. Bathrooms were modern and enjoyable.Down side

Flurries in December

We loved our stay. The house was beautiful and cozy with all the right touches. We even got to see snow flurries, which from Floridians made our trip even that more special! The only smallest of complaints was the water pressure in the house but Michelle was on top of it and quickly tried to fix the problem. Overall A+ in my book! Thank you again for this amazing experience!

Beautiful Modern Home in the Woods

The house was amazing and very clean. It’s a very modern vibe with cool furnishings and high end finishes, which is the best I’ve ever seen in my years of booking cabins. The property is just off a main road; yet quiet. There’s a short walk down the gravel driveway to the creek behind the house. My family enjoyed exploring it and soaking our feet in the cool water. The beds are very comfortable and the game room has a fun air hockey table as well as arcade games. The split floor plan with primary bedroom upstairs is nice if you’re traveling with kids and want some separation from noise. If I had to name a negative about the house, it would be the water pressure in the showers and sinks. The wifi was a little spotty, but if I’m in the woods I’m not expecting wifi perfection. Overall, I would stay here again. It’s gorgeous and centrally located.

Wonderful Family Weekend.

The property owner thought of every detail to make our stay perfect! This is a beautiful home that is extremely clean and beautifullly done with many upgrades. Kiddos loved playing in the game room, tubing the creek and sitting around the firepit!! And the dining table is perfect for family dinners!! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. We loved our stay in this modern mountain masterpiece!!

Visiting Ellijay

It was very conveniently located. When we arrived it was exactly as depicted. Home was really nicely situated with stream behind it. The only issue we had was that the downstairs restroom did not flush. Windows were all clean for our viewing experience. Just really enjoyed. The owners where wonderful and respond immediately. Def. recommend.
