The CampAway is approximately 4 acres and houses two 1/bed 1/bath cabins - The Big Dipper Cabin and The Little Dipper Cabin. The cabins are connected via gravel driveways or hiking trails and are approximately 60 yards apart and separated by elevation and trees. Guests of both cabins have access to the Tickanetley Creek via hiking trails. The hike down to the creek from the cabins takes approximately 5-10 minutes via dirt and rock trails and should be a moderate hike for most children and adults. These are true hiking trails and may not be suitable for everyone. Being true mountain cabins, pests and bugs may sometimes make their way into the cabin even though we do spray and inspect monthly to keep them outside.

Perched on four private wooded acres with creek access and bordering the Chattahoochee National Forest, The Big Dipper is a secluded summer mountain escape designed for couples and small families who want to unplug and slow down. Spend warm days wandering down to Tickanetley Creek, relaxing in cool forest shade, and ending evenings under dark starry skies and glowing fireflies.
Guests love the stillness here - windows open to fresh mountain air, cicadas humming in the trees, and the steady sound of the creek below. Mornings start slowly with coffee on the porch while the forest wakes up, and afternoons invite you to explore nearby Ellijay and Blue Ridge for wineries, hiking trails, tubing, waterfalls, and small mountain-town charm.
Inside, the cabin is intentionally simple - warm, grounded, and thoughtfully lived-in. Vintage camp character blends with modern comfort, centered around a massive stone fireplace, relaxed seating, and a well-stocked kitchen meant for slow mornings and shared meals.
Wood floors, warm lighting, and curated vintage pieces preserve the cabinâs original charm while making the space feel welcoming and comfortable. Itâs the kind of place where conversation lingers, time softens, and evenings end with a board game, a glass of wine, and the quiet rhythm of the forest outside.

We enjoyed our little getaway here. It was cozy, quiet, and just what we needed to disconnect for a few days. The host was kind and provided helpful information before and during our trip.
What a great camp! The hostess was very communicative throughout our stay, the cabin was so adorable, clean, and cozy. We were able to bring our 2 dogs with us which was an added bonus. It is very private and it felt like we were in a treehouse. Went on a hike in the national forest which borders the property and found a beautiful waterfall. Great time. So relaxing!
Great little cabin for a couple! It was big enough to not feel cramped but cozy enough to get away and relax. We didnât spend enough time here with all the activities in the area available - Amicalola Falls, Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, White Water Rafting near Bryson City, SC. Next time we will plan a day of no activities to enjoy more of what the cabin had to offer.
Excellent location close to attractions in a private setting with lovely nature views too! We loved the quaint cabin that was full of charm and character! Highly recommended for small families/small groups looking to get away for a few days! The trail & creek on the property were an added bonus for us!
