Large former bakery. A mature garden with lots of fruit trees, terrace with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ. TV, DVD player, Wii, Apple tv; pool table and lots of games/puzzles;books;dvds for when it rains. Full electric heating and wood burning stove. Well behaved pets by arrangement. Situated in the 7 Valleys area of Northern France, located between the medieval walled town of Montreuil and the bustling market town of Hesdin. Just 25 miles from Boulogne, less than 1 hour from The Channel Tunnel, but in a different world.

Beautiful house

We had a lovely stay at the Bakery whilst competing in an off-road rally. The gite has all the facilities and equipment you need to make for an enjoyable time away, especially when the log burner is lit! We would highly recommend this gite for families or groups of friends as there’s both communal and private space. We’ll be back!

We found the property to be in a poor state of repair in a number of areas and the standard of cleanliness left sometjng to be desired. Otherwise, The Old Bakery has plenty of aged character and is srt in a very quiet location.

Great getaway in scenic valley

We really enjoyed this house. It was great for a family getaway. The area is beautiful, a nice quiet valley with a little river running through it. There are places to walk and the children can also be ride bikes in the area. The house is cozy. It is an old house and a little noisy, but we loved it. There are modern enough amenities to make everything easy. The upstairs area has a great games area and tv room which kept the children well entertained

Beautiful period property in quiet rural setting

Enjoyed a lovely week here in July. Property was a little dusty on arrival, but being over a hundred years old this is to be expected. Everything in terms of equipment in the property has been taken care of, from vacuum cleaner to modern washing machine to more plates and pans than even the most adventurous cook could require! The house is within the sleepy village of Embry which is very convenient for travelling to the coast (le Touquet - 40 mins) or the beautiful old towns in the area (e.g. Montreuil - 20 mins) We had 3 under 5s with us and found plenty to keep them occupied. For example there is a lovely goat farm, (5 mins away by car), la Halte d'Autrefois, where the owner happily showed us the goats, chickens and kittens! They also sell a very soft and subtle goats cheese which is mild enough even for non goats cheese lovers! An excellent property which I would highly recommend for a group who like a quiet (no phone signal), equipped (wifi, TV, DVD, games, great kitchen) and pretty house to get away from it all within an hour of Calais.

Malgré un temps mitigé, nous avons passé 3 jours trÚs agréables dans le délicieux gßte de Sarah. La boulangerie au charme ancien et à la charmante décoration avec tout ce qu'il faut pour un séjour confortable a permis à chacun de trouver les occupations souhaitées avec entre autre le billard. Les ballades autour du gßte nous a permis de découvrir des paysages préservés. Ce séjour a passé trop vite de l'avis de tous. Nous reviendrons...

Quelques déceptions : nous aurions apprécié que le logement soit chauffé à notre arrivée ; odeurs d'humidité tenaces ; les dimensions des couchages n'étaient pas celles qui avaient été annoncées. Globalement, le logement est convenable, certainement mieux adapté à un séjour estival.

Gezellig familieverblijf

Fijne plek om te relaxen met gezin met volwassenen kinderen en aanhang. Verschillende ruimten waar men gezellig kan zitten lezen, praten of een spel doen. De pooltafel op zolder is een leuk extraatje van het huis. De keuken is ruim en zeer volledig; heel erg geschikt voor een groter gezelschap. De slaapkamers op de begane grond kunnen in de winter wat vochtig zijn. Veel wandelgelegenheden rond het huis. Het huis staat in een rustig dorp.

Bonjour, tous mes vƓux pour cette annĂ©e 2021. Nous avons passĂ© un excellent sĂ©jour....malgrĂ© un dĂ©but difficile. En effet, Ă  notre arrivĂ©e une odeur de brĂ»lĂ© s'est dĂ©gagĂ©e et nous nous sommes rendus compte que le compteur Ă©lectrique fumĂ©. Nous l'avons donc Ă©teint avant qu il ne prenne feu et j ai contactĂ© Karen. Son pĂšre est venu et Ă  dĂ» appeler d urgence EDF afin qu ils interviennent au plus vite pour changer le compteur. Nous sommes donc restĂ©s dans le froid et le noir pendant 3 heures. Nous avons eu peur que notre sĂ©jour se raccourcisse. Une fois le problĂšme rĂ©solu, tout c est bien passĂ©e. Toutefois, je tiens Ă  vous prĂ©ciser quelques dĂ©sagrĂ©ment que nous avons rencontrĂ© : les toilettes du bas fuyaient, une poignĂ©e d une porte de chambre du haut Ă©tait cassĂ©e et le chauffage de la chambre prĂšs de la salle Ă  manger ne fonctionnait pas (odeur de moisissures, murs trempĂ©s..) A part ça la maison est trĂšs atypique et familiale situĂ©e dans un village calme et reposant. Nous vous remercions et vous souhaitons une bonne continuation. Cordialement

Une belle maison dans un cocon vert...

Notre impression est globalement excellente la maison est "super-Ă©quipĂ©e", joliment dĂ©corĂ©e; le jardin n'est pas sophistiquĂ© ce qui ,sous mes doigts,est un compliment. Il y fait trĂšs bon vivre tant le jour que la nuit sous un ciel pur et Ă©toilĂ©. On se sent en totale symbiose avec un village oĂč l'on peut marcher et faire de belles promenades. Les seuls "bĂ©mols" sont la faiblesse du rĂ©seau tĂ©lĂ©phonique et le manque d'insonorisation dans l'habitat. Toute la famille a ADORE ce sĂ©jour....

Superbe et charmante maison - Wonderful House

Nous avons passĂ© un excellent week-end en famille dans cette charmante maison trĂšs joliment dĂ©corĂ©e. Une maison avec un charme authentique mais ayant nĂ©anmoins une jolie touche de modernitĂ©. Un beau mĂ©lange entre le morderne et l'ancien. La maison est fonctionnelle et repartie de façon Ă  ce que chaque personne (si vous venez en famille) ait son air: 3 chambres Ă  l'Ă©tage (dont 1 familiale), 2 chambres doubles au rez-de-chaussĂ©e (avec vue sur le jardin). 2 salles de bain avec toilette bien Ă©quipĂ©es (1 Ă  l'Ă©tage et 1 au rez-de-chaussĂ©e). Tout est pensĂ© pour le confort des voyageurs. La cuisine est trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e (bols, verres,tasses, grands plats, casseroles de toutes sortes,...), c'etait trĂšs agrĂ©able de cuisiner dans cet espace avec tous ces ustensiles de cuisine mis Ă  disposions. La salle de jeux, situĂ©e Ă  l'Ă©tage, est hyper agrĂ©able! Elle comporte un billard et un coin salon avec un vaste choix de DVD. Pour couronner le tout, la maison est situĂ©e dans un charmant village, calme, reposant et entourĂ© de prairies... de quoi faire de jolies promenades. La maison est situĂ©e Ă  20 minutes de Montreuil-sur-mer (charmant village) et Ă  40 min de la mer. Enfin, Sarah est une personne vraiment attentive au confort de ses hĂŽtes. Bien que nous ne l'ayons pas rencontrĂ©e, nous pouvons affirmer que Sarah est une personne charmante et d'une grande gentillesse. Échanger par e-mail avec elle Ă©tait trĂšs agrĂ©able, elle a rĂ©pondu Ă  plusieurs reprises rapidement Ă  nos multiples questions "pratique". Nous avons facilement trouvĂ© la maison grĂące aux explications qu'elle nous avait envoyĂ© quelques jours avant notre arrivĂ©e. Il est clair que nous reviendrons. Vous pouvez vraiment rĂ©server cette maison les yeux fermĂ©s, elle saura vous charmer comme ce fut notre cas. A very well decorated house in the countryside. A good mix between the charm of traditionnal house and practical side of modernity. Excellent for families. Great kitchen with all necessary kitchen tools. Great playroom with billard, TV and a lot of DVD. Sarah is a very kind and helpfull person. The house is easy to find because Sarah sent us all the informations to find it a few days before our arrival. We will come back with pleasure! Do not hesitate to book a week-end in this charming house! You will be probably charmed like us. Thank you Sarah for everything!

un WE entre amis (4 couples en septembre 2019)

Le sĂ©jour avait mal dĂ©butĂ© puisque nous n'avions pas compris qu'un boitier Ă  clefs Ă©tait prĂ©sent dans la propriĂ©tĂ©. La personne de contact ne rĂ©pondait pas et n'est d'ailleurs jamais venue. Il n'y a pas ou trĂšs peu de rĂ©seau GSM. Le Wifi est bien distribuĂ©. La maison est propre, bien dĂ©corĂ©e et trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e. Elle est assez loin du littoral mais en pleine campagne. Il doit donc ĂȘtre possible d'y faire de jolies balades. Malheureusement pour nous, la pluie a Ă©tĂ© trop au rendez vous. Je conseillerais au propriĂ©taire de faire revoir l'Ă©tanchĂ©itĂ© des chassis de fenĂȘtre qui laissent passer quelques gouttes, abimant ainsi les boiseries. J'ajouterai que la douche du rez de chaussĂ©e est assez glissante, un accident est vite arrivĂ©. A part cela, on y est bien ! A conseiller !

Notre séjour à été trÚs agréable. La maison était propre, trÚs bien équipée et décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Nous aurions aimé avoir plus de temps pour profiter de cette belle ancienne boulangerie.

Pas de moyen d'entrer dans le logement car pas de consignes.

Pas d'accueil quand nous sommes arrivés au logt. Pas de message préalable pour nous expliquer la démarche pour entrer dans le logt et difficultés pour communiquer car peu de réseau téléphone portable? Sinon logement agréable;manque d'insonorisation et frais à l'intérieur.

Great stay

We had a great stay here. It's a big house with a well equipped kitchen. It's an old house which gives it a lot of character. The house wasn't dirty but wasn't very clean neither. The host is very responsive and helpful. Overall a great location for some days away.
