Great experience if you like the hostel environment, friendly people and lots of areas to hang out. Having my own room was nice.

Comfy and Affordable

Great place to stay for the price. Staff wasn’t all that friendly but they weren’t rude either.

Great Atmosphere, Great Staff, Private Room Okay

This is generally a great place. There’s a cozy, social atmosphere and the staff were super nice. It was clean and kinda funky- mismatched drapes and a cool tapestry on the wall. We rented the Captains Room instead of staying in the dorms. The only negative was the price for what it was. You don’t really get any of the traditional amenities you get from the same price elsewhere, like a little shampoo (these types of items were available to purchase). The room is also right by the front desk and the walls are thin so you hear everything. We were awakened in the morning by staff entering the office. Not their fault - there’s just no sound proofing to to the walls. There is an additional $20 room key deposit, which is fine since it is not a card key; just something to be aware of. It takes 3-5 days for it to be refunded. You are required to strip your bedding after your stay and deposit them and your towels into bins in a different room. Again, it was fine, but not at that price point. To be fair, we knew it was a hostel and should have set our expectations accordingly. I think we thought it would be a little nicer given that we paid for a private room.

Hi Amy, thanks for staying with us and for providing a through review! Those are always appreciated. She's an old house, and we do our best to keep her comfy though sometimes the layout can be funky. We are doing a hostel redesign this winter to update and refresh, so come back again in the Spring as see the changes we've made! Also, you are 100% welcome to leave your bedding in your room, but it's a nice gesture to staff if you want to strip it. Community lodging always appreciates those little moments.

Mediocre Would rather stay at a hotel I felt like a child when i was there cause they are so strict with their rules. I got kicked out for having a piece of pizza in the dorms. So not very reasonable in my opinion

Hi Dagan, we're sorry you feel that way. You were not solely kicked out because you had pizza and beer cans in the room. You broke multiple basic rules, such as hopping over our fence twice after our common areas were closed, which is a security risk to both guests and staff staying here. You also urinated outside of our property even though there was a restroom next to your room.
