There's a restaurant on site. You can unwind with a drink at one of the 2 bars/lounges. WiFi is free in public spaces. A complete renovation of The Turks Head was completed in August 2021.
Smoking is allowed in designated areas at this 3-star Exeter hotel.
While the concept of having rental rooms above a pub is charming in theory, I can assure you, itâs less romantic in reality. The room we rented was very tiny, not the cleanest, and musty. It was equipped enough to dwell for the night but the mattress felt very old and it squeaked at any slight movement. Also, the noise from the pub activity was incredibly loud (hence the ear plugs provided) and once that subsided, our lovely âneighboursâ in the room next to us blasted music and babbled drunkenly at the wee hours of the morning until we could no longer ignore it and had to bang on the wall. Overall, I cannot in good conscience recommend staying here.
Great place to stay, excellent staff, nice rooms, well equipped. The kitchen wasn't open for breakfast due to work being carried out but they gave us recommendations for nearby places.
Very handy for centre of Exeter. Clean and well equipped, a little tired in places but it's an old, historic building so that's to be expected. Can be a touch noisy with voices outside, but ear plugs provided if needed - and this didn't interrupt our sleep. Would stay again - staff very friendly.
The Turks Head is a lovely place to stay - it's very clean and comfortable and the staff really friendly, welcoming and polite. However, there is noise from from the pub and this could be unsettling for some guests.
Central right in the middle of everything so perfect for getting everywhere in central Exeter. It is an odd coaching inn so stairs. Room was very well equipped with everything you need. We were in the snug and hey guys what it was snug, me and my hubby who are cuddly foils the need a little small for us. We booked it so just a note not a complaint. The lady who checked us in was amazing.
central and cosy, i could not of been happier with my stay. for the cheapest place i could book on the same day i wanted to stay turks head really surprised me with the quality of the room
We loved our stay in Room 4. Extremely comfortable and spacious room. Had everything we needed - kettle, Nespresso machine, hairdryer, iron etc.. 4 USB sockets around the bed for charging of devices. They are low key with their housemaid service which suited us, but if you ask for it, they provide. Good bed. Shower was strong and did put water a bit over onto the bathroom floor. Just needed a bit of moving of the shower head and of the bath mat to resolve. Stairs were a struggle with the suitcases and WiFi was not good but we had data on our phones so this was not really a problem. Good choice of tv stations. Noise from the pub downstairs or from was not a problem. We asked and received a bucket of ice every night for drinks in the room. Bar staff were extremely accommodating. That reminds me that check-in is at the bar as you walk into the pub. Then you come out of the pub and the entrance to the rooms is off the high street to the left of the pub main entrance. Great location in Exeter for seeing the sights, shopping and restaurants. Pretty level unless youâre going down Fore Street! Without a doubt, would definitely stay there again.
