Only minor things I would suggest be paid attention to are refilling the containers in the shower- went to wash my hair and the shampoo was empty! Lots of fingerprints everywhere and even handprints on the headboard of one of the beds…. Ick. I used a towel to wipe that off. I’ve stayed here before and will again.

What I liked about the property was the lobby and outside seating area. Very colorful, comfortable and inviting. However, the front desk staff member… not so inviting. I called hours prior to my arrival to find out if we could check-in early since my better half and I were driving from NYC for an event in NC that started at 4pm. Our arrival time stated 12pm, so I called before 8am and was told that there were no rooms available for early check-in, as the hotel was booked to capacity the night before. I have no choice but to take him at his word, and after all it wasn’t close to check-out time yet which is 11am. We arrive at 11:45am and get the gentleman that I spoke with over the phone earlier. I say good morning and explain that I called earlier and was wondering if any rooms were available yet. The gentleman advised me there were no rooms available because EVERYONE was doing a late check-out and housekeeping hadn’t gotten to any of the rooms yet. I asked if there might be anything available before 3pm and his reply was “potentially” with an air of smugness that was very off putting. I decided to end the conversation by politely asking to use the restroom. Imagine my surprise when I walk inside of the single use restroom and there’s not a single piece or roll of toilet tissue! Ahhh, I guess housekeeping hadn’t gotten around to anything on the hotel grounds and with the hotel at full capacity the night before, all of the guests must have used the lobby bathroom! 🙄

As an avid traveler, I’ve stayed at many hotels, but unfortunately, Home2 Suites left my family and me disappointed. At first glance, the room seemed tidy. There were fresh towels, and beds were made. Yet, when we lay on the bed, the pillows smelled unpleasant, as if the pillowcases hadn’t been changed, it was the smell of head sweat and drool. We ended up checking each one, because there was no way, it was horrible! After calling the front desk, we were given replacements, but the experience left a very negative impression. When we first complained about the pillows, the front desk offered to send maintenance to re-clean the room. At that point, we declined because we only wanted fresh pillows, but had we known the rest of the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, we may have considered it. The shower had not been properly cleaned, there was dirt on the wall, hair, and food crumbs left in the kitchen area, including inside the microwave and fridge. Utensils were left wet in the dishwasher, and some still had food stuck on them. The desk and countertops had smudges on them, and the bathroom floor was sticky. We thought about leaving for another hotel, but after a 10-hour drive, it was late and we were too exhausted to move. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast was good. However, overall, the cleanliness issues made for a disappointing stay.
