Dar Sienna will be your peaceful oasis and home-from-home in the heart of the ancient city.
Ideal for couples, solo travellers, or families and friends wishing to experience life in the magical medina.
Step back in time, explore and shop to your heart’s content and then relax and sip mint-tea on our shaded terraces. Superb central location in heart of car-free medina, located amidst all the major sights and wonderful souks (markets). 5 minute walk to nearest taxi rank at Bab R'Cif, 10 minutes walk from the famous Blue Gate.
3 light and airy double bedrooms, with medina views, each with own bathroom. All rooms have reverse A/C or fan/heater. comfy double beds, snuggly duvets and extra blankets for winter.
If not required, the 3rd (lower bedroom can be converted into an additional sitting area/snug/workspace.

Re photography from the terraces of DAR SIENNA: We have 3 terraces with views onto the medina and surrounding countryside for you to enjoy. We ask that guests respect the privacy of the neighbouring women and children, whom you will see going about daily business of laundry, gossip, cooking and even sleeping on the rooftop. This is the women's private area. Our terraces overlook the neighbours rooftops. Please be discreet and do not look at the women. Une maison surprenante aux multiples terrasses

Cette maison dĂ©corĂ©e avec soin est trĂšs bien placĂ©e au cƓur de la mĂ©dina. Ses terrasses offrent des vues surprenantes et trĂšs agrĂ©ables. L'intĂ©rieur est plutĂŽt spacieux (beaucoup d'escaliers cependant). La maison doit ĂȘtre encore plus apprĂ©ciable en automne ou au printemps (un peu fraiche en hiver). Nous avons tout de mĂȘme mangĂ© dehors plusieurs jours au soleil !. Sayeed, toujours chaleureux, convivial, Ă  nos petits soins, est une personne de confiance. C'Ă©tait vraiment agrĂ©able de le retrouver chaque jour pour Ă©changer
 Nous reviendrions donc dans cette maison, mais plutĂŽt au printemps.

Es una casa remodelada con cuidado hasta el Ășltimo detalle. Tiene un ĂĄngel guardiĂĄn que se llama Said con una sonrisa que resuelve todo, cocina delicioso y hace que la estancia sea una experiencia maravillosa. Fes ademĂĄs es un lugar muy especial

From start to finish there was a lovely attentiveness...it made the cultural experience so rich! Said meeting us at the train station to guide us through the pedestrian only maze was so helpful ! Highly recommended and will certainly return!

Excellent House in the Medina

Two couples stayed for three nights in Dar Sienna and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. To start, the house is well located in the Median, close to the main streets in the neighborhood. The owner Sonhild was easy to communicate with, answered many questions, and arranged for a guide for us. His partner Sayeed, met us when we first arrived and escorted us to the house. He made us breakfast each morning and dinner one night. Sayeed was an amazing resource to have available, and he made our stay in the Medina very comfortable. If you read the description of the house, there are some steep stairs to climb, so be prepared for that. The climb to the roof is worth it because the view is striking. And the Medina can be overwhelming. Having a guide helped us get oriented and allowed us to see the various artisans without getting bogged down being lost. Overall, the combination of a lovely house, with an amazing support person, is a winner. Dar Sienna is highly recommended.

A PERFECT stay in Fes!

Two of us spent 2 weeks in Fes and stayed at Dar Sienna the whole time (apart from a 2-night excursion to the Sahara— also highly recommended!). This was the perfect property! The location in the heart of the MĂ©dina meant we had not only a truly immersive experience, it meant we were also close to everything. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. Sayeed, the property manager, is the kindest and most helpful soul. He met us at the train station, got us to Dar Sienna, and made us breakfast each day. He also answered questions and gave us bits of helpful advice. He cooked 2 WONDERFUL dinners for us... one we got to watch him prepare. We met his wonderful family... enjoyed great tea and coffee he made for us... He took care of everything at the house and various logistics for our travels. The house has 3 wonderful bedrooms and 3 full baths, each with shower and ‘western’ toilet— one en suite, one down the hall, and one down a flight. (This isn’t easy to tell from the pictures— but 3 couples could easily stay here or a family etc.) EVERYTHING in Fes requires steep stair climbing to include Dar Sienna but the views from the terrace are spectacular. We enjoyed watching the city, hearing call to prayer and having morning breakfast in the beautiful sunlight. It was great to look for and pick out Dar Sienna’s terrace from several other view points in the city. Sonhild was an excellent host. Even though she was not in Fes at the time, she checked in on us via email and via Sayeed to assure all was going well. She provided copious written advice in advance which was a tremendous help. We did and saw MANY of her recommendations and were not disappointed... from restaurants to sites not to miss and ideas for tours, etc. Fes is an assault on the senses. It’s overwhelming with its sights, sounds and smells... but being deep within this place is transformative. DO go and spend a nice long stay soaking it all in! To be in a huge city with no cars, no planes zooming over and no constant hum of AC units from every corner was unlike anything we’ve experienced... and the artisans. Amazing! Dar Sienna is truly a work of love. The tile work, the zellij, the furnishings, art...the cozy living room... the spectacular terrace... Sonhild truly rescued and restored an absolute gem that is steps from the most historic sites in Fes that might have otherwise been lost forever. We feel so fortunate to have it shared with us.

tolle Unterkunft inmitten der Medina

Wir haben uns zu dritt im Haus sehr wohlgefĂŒhlt, auch unser Sohn im Teenager Alter. Mitten in der Altstadt bekommt man einen wirklich guten Eindruck vom Leben in Fes. Die Dachterasse ist super, die Zimmer sind gut eingerichtet. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. In der KĂŒche war alles vorhanden zum Kochen. Der Kontakt vor Ort war sehr freundlich , Abholung vom Taxi hat super geklappt, obwohl wir verspĂ€tet waren. Sonhild war auch sehr hilfsbereit- danke. Etwas gestört hat uns die KĂ€lte abends im Haus, aber das Haus ist natĂŒrlich eher fĂŒr Sommermonate ausgerichtet..... Die Unterkunft können wir empfehlen!
