Abbey Church 14 'Averon' at the Highland Club

The ‘Averon’ apartment is a beautifully decorated and furnished two bedroom apartment and benefits from being on the 1st floor of the Abbey Church Building in the Highland Club (access via stairs only) where you will find the swimming pool and spa facilities (sauna & steam room). Maximum occupancy 6.

In the large open-plan living area there are two white leather settees and one of these doubles up as a comfortable sofa bed allowing sleeping of up to 6 people. There is also a large Smart TV and a bluetooth soundbar for you to enjoy.

The glass dining table allows seating for up to six people with matching white leather chairs. The stylish kitchen has granite worktops and is fully fitted with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer, and a full complement of high quality kitchen equipment and utensils.

In the large master bedroom suite you will find a king-size white leather bed, comfortable leather chairs and solid oak furniture, including a wardrobe and chest of draws. There is also a smart TV in the master bedroom.

The Scottish ‘family tartan’ curtains throughout the property are beautifully complimented by the bed throws and cushions in each of the rooms. The en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom has both a bath and a separate powerful shower.

The second bedroom has matching twin beds with a solid oak chest of draws and bedside cabinets, the second bathroom benefits from a bath and a powerful shower above. All quality towels and bedding are provided.

Check-in is from 4pm - 8.30pm.

Great Hide Away

The property was amazing and beautiful. Very well maintained. The apartment was just as advertised and very nice for our longer visit to Scotland. It was a great alternative to staying in an impersonal hotel and to save money on meals to cook “at home”. It was very centrally located to all the Highland sites we were interested in seeing. I would highly recommend staying at The Highland Club.

Great location and beautiful property right on the end of Loch Ness. Apartment was very nice and clean. There is a couple floors of stairs to walk up if you have trouble with stairs I would consider that.

Julie managed our check-in, and she was helpful and extremely welcoming. We had a great stay at the Abbey, which was a delight place to explore with kids. Fort Augustus was an excellent "home base" to allow day trips into other areas of the Highlands. We loved it!

Great Historic Charm

The stay was fantastic! Bed in master bedroom sits VERY low to the ground, which was unexpected. There was a convenience store bearby so we cooked meals in the apartment as there are not many restaurants open later in the evening and many of the restaurants are poorly reviewed. The only complaint I have about the stay is that booking a time slot for the pool was hard. We tried multiple times prior to our arrival and once arrived, our check-in specialist told us pool hours were 9a-9p. We found out they are actually 9a-5p which conflicted with other activities we booked in the area. The visitor book suggested that you could pay to reserve an evening slot, but were never able to accomplish that and got no reply from onsite management (also, their phone number was out of service--we ended up calling the owner to communicate RE: check in, etc). Having an appartment owner and a separate property manager was challenging. It would be nice if the owner could facilitate pool reservations. Overall, very comfortable stay in an unbeatable location!

We had a nice stay at this beautiful location. Everything we needed was present. At the beginning the flat was smelling from cooking of our predecessors. As the flat is on the second floor we had to carry our luggage up as there is no lift.

Amazing facility

The converted Abbey property that this rental is located in is really a destination unto itself. Fort Augustus is a small tourist town and really a good base for exploring further afield but the Abbey property itself was the main attraction for our kids, thirteen and ten. It’s been really thoughtfully converted, the grounds were beautiful and we made use of all of the facilities - pool, sauna, steam room, snooker table, outdoor chess and table tennis! If the weather had cooperated a bit more we would have done more outside, we barely scratched the surface of what was available. Our flat was newly decorated and very comfortable and we truly enjoyed our stay. Our only glitch was on our end - our North American mobiles never successfully managed to text despite our efforts to have them set up to do so. Check in does require a phone as there is no manned reception and you need to physically meet with someone to pick up your key and be directed to your accommodation. But that was our issue, not theirs, I just include it as a useful piece of information. It was a great decision to stay here and we unreservedly recommend it to anyone planning to spend time in the area.

Catch up with friends

Property was ideal for get together with friends. Apartment was clean and tidy and the kitchen well equipped. The on-site swimming pool, gym and sauna were a bonus. Location was perfect for exploring Loch Ness and surrounding area. Can also thoroughly recommend The Station Road Restaurant if you are looking for an exceptional meal.
