Pros and Cons

We rented this property for a family of 8 for 4 nights. The pros - great location, family friendly amenities like pool table, an above ground pool, ping pong table and enough space for everyone. But this is where the positives end. The host was not communicative and didn't respond to several vrbo messages, phone calls and text messages for simple things like checking weather conditions and requesting early check in. The property was ready when we got there around 2 pm and we were able to get in but no word from the host. A little unnerving to think that no one can be reached in case of anything urgent. The photos don't reflect exactly how aged the property is - there are some attempts to modernize but the property is not well maintained. The kitchen had cockroaches and I am highly allergic to cockroaches so that was interesting. Several door handles were so loose that they were falling apart and none of the bathroom and most of the bedroom doors DIDN'T lock. The master bath is really from the 1970s with a blue tub and no drain cover and every metal fixture rusted. There was a spot in the guest bedroom with the twin beds where the wood floor was ruptures and if you stepped on it water came out. The lights flickered at random times leading me to think the wiring is faulty. And a cabinet in the kitchen had water seepage where mold was growing so we were unable to use the rice cooker or another appliance in there. the nespresso machine was broken and the list goes on.

Great rental for large group, wonderful outdoor spaces

A group of 10 adult women friends rented this house for a long weekend getaway in January. It was a great place to stay and we would definitely return. There is a main house with 4 bedrooms/6 beds/2 bathrooms, and a guest house with 2 bedrooms/5 beds (2 twin bunkbeds plus a double bed) and 1 bathroom. Two of the bedrooms are walk-throughs to other bedrooms. There are several great outdoor hangout spaces--a huge covered patio with a long table (actually 3 tables pushed together) and a lot of chairs; a rooftop patio with lounge chairs and a view of the intercoastal waterway; and a backyard with an above-ground pool, a fire pit, yard games, and several kayaks. There are a few things that could be modernized in the house, and it would be nice if there was shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the showers and dish cloths in the kitchen. We appreciated the fast communication with the host, including when we asked if we could have a late check-out on the last day of our trip. To get the beach and the Hollywood Broadwalk you walk across a bridge, which takes about 10 minutes altogether. We didn't mind the walk and it's nice to be close to the ocean and all the bars, restaurants, ice cream, bike rental shops, etc. on the Broadwalk. Altogether a great rental for large groups!

This host really deserves 5 stars!

GREAT LOCATION! The house is huge, we really enjoyed it on the terrace overlooking the canal and from inside playing on the pool table you can also see the boats passing by, the garden is huge and surrounds the whole house with volley, lots of games, kayaks and the pool! The host is always in constant communication and gave us the best service. 100% recommended!

Big cool house with an amazing location

Had an amazing stay with friends for a long weekend. A very cool house with a lot to offer and an even better location being so close to the beach strip. Very smooth communication with the host as well. Can’t wait to book again!

Perfect location!

The host was very kind and helpful. The beach was just across the bridge, close to many local restaurants. Great space for a big family. Have many spots for entertainment: pool (billiards), ping pong, volleyball, big terrace. Beautiful view. The backyard was perfect for us. Bedrooms are well organized and comfortable. The house floor needs some repair.

Perfect big group house

We had a blast staying at this awesome waterfront house. Loved the rooftop deck in the late afternoon watching the boats go by, grilling out back, volleyball in the pool, etc. A few things are dated and could use some work... kitchen floor, some windows/frames. However, overall, the house suited our needs perfectly and was easily enough space for our group of 16. We would come back for sure. Thank you!

Just Like Home

We all loved staying at Casa Playa! The house is a little out dated BUT we all made it feel like home and everything works perfectly! My brothers didn’t even want to go anywhere but stay and enjoy what the house has to offer!! Shirli answered my questions in a timely manner and was very nice!

Perfect location!

This home is in the perfect spot - walking distance to bars, restaurants, and most importantly, the beach. The host was very friendly and responsive. House is a little more outdated than the pictures show and could use some more detailed cleaning. Make sure to bring extra towels and cleaning supplies if you have a larger group. Overall, my group had a great time! I recommend staying in this home.

Fantastic House Close to Everything

We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for everyone and so many things to do. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach and the broadwalk with tons of restaurants, shops and entertainment right there. There was live music most nights. We liked that there were also many things to do at the house, including playing pool, swimming in the pool, kayaking in the waterway that's just across the street (kayaks and life vests are there ready to use) or just hanging out and watching TV. There is a bike that we didn't take advantage of but I like that it was available. The host was very fast with communicating and check in was easy and painless. We would stay here again.

Pictures Don’t Do It Justice

We had an amazing time at this gorgeous house! Customer service was amazing and so quick to help! A tub was backing up and they ran out to the house within minutes. It’s a very large size house with lots of comfy beds and lots of space for a big family or group. The house was very clean and the entire kitchen matched the dishes and appliances (so pretty). Every part of the house is well thought out and well loved. Really taken care of. I can’t say enough about this beautifully home. It’s in a great location where you can watch huge yachts sail by. The beach is a few short minutes away. The pool outside is large and the ping pong table, giant jenga and the kayaks are all ready to be used. We got plenty of towels and paper goods. They truly impressed our group. Everyone had such a great time! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you! Thank you!
