The El Matador complex is situated on the beach on gorgeous Okaloosa Island! This spacious 2BR/2BA condo offers a king in the master, queen bed in the guest room, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room, sleeping up to 6 guests comfortably. El Matador complex is beautifully landscaped on 12acres featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort has access to beachfront soft white sand with natures surf. Many shopping establishments, fine restaurants and a variety of water sports are available. Amenities includes two pools, tennis, pickle ball, basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more.

The place is great the location is perfect, very clean everything, the distance from the beach with the perfect apartment, a small detail have to repair the light of a room that does not work with the control.

Visiting old friends

The trip was good because we saw our friends. Condo was nice enough and very clean however the beds are really not good. In fact, none of the furnishings were comfortable. Too bad because the location was perfect.

No internet with kids, floors needed mopping badly, nasty worn out rug in living room, stools was not as shown so the little short stools didn't work out at the bar

No ocean/beach view

The bed in the guest bedroom felt like you were sleeping on box springs, very uncomfortable. The living room furniture is also very uncomfortable and the dining room chairs are uneven and have loose legs. As far as location, close to the trash disposal and laundry. Does NOT have beach or ocean view and the pools are on the average size, nothing like what the pictures lead you to believe. Condo is in close to walking distance to both pools and the beach. The womens hot tub was broke down our entire stay.

Spring Break Time

The unit served its purpose but the weather did not cooperate for the week. Toilet in master bath seemed to struggle to flush. A few plunges did the trick. Very happy with the overall experience.

Beach

We loved the ground floor and access to the laundry alt house love laundry in room so much better. We had a sewage smell in one of the bathrooms from the time we arrived. I addressed it with no reply. The bath in the other bathroom did not drain well at all. Standing in dirty water is not fun!!! We were not aware where our condo really was located, like in which building, and I addressed that at well with no reply. Not a great condo with support but we had great weather and enjoyed our stay!!

So wish it was my forever

always wanted to stay at El Matador. We needed easy access for wheelchair and this place on first floor was perfect. I have stayed in fancy places and this was simplier but with added frills like the mattresses were the top of the line. complete with bed bug protector, yep I checked. towels and bedding were immaculate. It was quiet except for the neighbor's wind chimes that I heard at night only and now I want one. This unit had the most convenient location for use. lawn was manicured. parking easy. The host was perfect and quickly responded and checked. sure, I could nit pick some stuff. But no way would I. I love the retro vibe of the structure and location location location. Wish it was my forever home. thanks

Our stay was ok. The place could use a little more updating, cleaning, and sprucing up. For example, bath tub finish was worn off and was stained with (blue spots) in addition to places where it looked dirty. Place could us a fresh coat of paint. - not just on the walls but on the trim that was dirty and nicked up. Sofa was stained. Place could use a few more niceties……like coffee filters or a reusable coffee filter, salt & pepper. Instructions for Wi-Fi and TV ( I didn’t think to go into kitchen and look on refrig). Dishwasher was not anchored to the cabinets and did not work. Bedspread in master was super thin and plain (looked like an oversized bed pad w/o sides. Not enough curtain panels to cover the sliding door. Blinds that only go up part way. The place just needed a little more attention to detail and niceties. BTW, we never could get the place as bright and sunny looking as photos.
