Red Rooster Cottage, Freeport

Red Rooster is on 1 acre of property surrounded by huge Live Oak trees that offer lots of shade. Relax on the front porch in rocking chairs and listen to the Bird song. Our back porch offers 2 swings, a dining table with chairs or 2 rocking chairs to relax and watch the eagles, cranes or Osprey feed their young and teach them to fish from Bear Creek. Perfect place to watch the sunrise or the sunset each day, there are warm illuminating lights are hung completely around the cottage to enjoy the view.

A country cottage on Bear Creek that is relaxing. Lots of Games & puzzles for Family time. The cottage is beautiful inside and out. It is filled with local artist originals throughout. We have focused on Choctawhatchee Bay and Gulf Coast themed home decor. You will be welcomed to the property by our 380 lb. cast iron Red Rooster and his name is Red. Great for photos!
We have a large fully stocked kitchen perfect for grilling and prepare meals. Our large back porch with plenty of swings and rockers for everyone. This is the perfect spot to start you day with a cup of coffee and listen to the bird song in the air. End your day there to watch the sunset. Look carefully as you may see eagles, cranes, owls, songbirds or pelicans flying over bear creek.
The Southern Live Oak trees that form the canopy of shade over Red Rooster are old growth trees. These trees are at least 300 years old. They can live up to 1,500 years.
We personally love to pay games, so we have stocked Red Rooster with indoor and outdoor games.
You will start hearing the night song as the sun sets with night. This is a nightly orchestra from cicadas, crickets, grasshoppers, frogs, and katydids.
Sunrise you will hear chicken and roosters in the distance along with songbirds singing.
