I felt snubbed by the staff of the front desk area. The reception was cold and the check-out was even colder. I felt like I was treated harshly perhaps because I was American. There was no warm welcome for me and my family and the check-out was even colder. The guy didn't say a thing nor ask how our stay was. I commend the food staff and waiters. You'll be well taken care of there. They were very hospitable, accommodating, and smiled! Housekeeping was daily and done well. The Portuguese at Enotel Lido do not honor nor exercise hospitality basics. If they're not happy with their job, it shows. Worse, if they don't like you because of where you're from, it shows. I speak specifically about the check-in and check-out desk. Not a single smile when we had to interact with them.

We enjoyed our stay, the food and drinks were very good, room was comfortable and cleaned daily. Service in all of the restaurants was excellent and all the staff very polite. The outside area needs more attention especially the club balcony, it was never cleaned the eleven nights that we were there.

A fantastic hotel which managed to balance chic modernity with tradition and comfort, both in communal areas and in the spacious and comfortable rooms. A great selection of bars and restaurants though the buffet alone was more than adequate - delicious food with great variety, and I was pleased to see vegan and gluten free options. Excellent service. Good entertainment but it wasn’t “in your face”, you had to go to the right place rather than be forced to endure anything you didn’t want to. Having tried two other 5 star and two other 4 star hotels in Madeira, we can confidently say this was the best. Overall excellent and only the most minor of suggestions for improvements - soft close toilet lids and a map of the building for guests!

Family Friendly meets Pensioner Retreat

Great hotel, friendly service. FREE Parking! Food got the job done. My kids 11 and 5 enjoyed the kids club. Our family room was HUGE by European standards— we are American. Bath tub and standup shower. Whole place has a cruise ship feel as everyone convenes at either the Piano Bar, Lounge or sports bar after dinner. We wanted a hotel where we could retreat with ease after adventuring during the day. The dining options and cocktails made it feel like our vacation was easy. The hotel consisted of half pensioners, other half mix of families, couples etc. Over all, huge value here. If you are looking for a multigenerational hotel destination, this is perfect.

Enotel Lido is a 10 floor hotel centrally located 10 to 12 minutes by car from old Funchal. We stayed for 7 nights and were impressed with its housekeeping services, pristine grounds, and exceptional buffet menu. Each night was themed and there was an extensive vegetarian option. Lamb, chicken, duck, veal, shrimp and fish were outstanding. Desserts were incredible!! We plan to return as long as the chef doesn’t leave!! Thank you to all the staff for an unforgettable holiday!! ❤️

For all inclusive it was just ok. Food not available outside of dining hours. Two specialty restaurants were pretty good but otherwise just ok. No room service. Also rooms were 3 star at best. Shower area so tiny you can hardly wash your hair. Spa areas smelled unclean and hot tub area under construction and not hot at all.

This was an all inclusive hotel that served up great food and had very good services. We could easily visit again and have a lovely holiday. This was early May which meant that the hotel was not overly crowded so I cannot say what it would be like in high summer.
