Luxury Oceanfront Penthouse (LIDO & BEACH)

Luxury oceanfront 2 bedroom penthouse located in one of the most premium areas in Funchal (aka 'The Hotel Zone') right next to its best-know beaches & lidos and still within walking distance of the old town and the main tourist attractions.

This is a modern and quite unique venue occupying the top floor (yeah no neighbours around!!!) of a seven-story closed condo, embracing the Atlantic Ocean and offering not only sweeping views but also best-in-class amenities (luxurious private garden, oceanfront infinity pool, high speed wireless internet, smart TV, music surround system...)

The apartment is very spacious and elegantly decorated, offering 2 large bedrooms (one of which is a seaview suite with a private bathroom) with king sized beds and ample wardrobes, a luminous living room with large windows and a seaview balcony (where our guests can enjoy a perfect breakfast...), a fully equipped kitchen and a second big bathroom.

The Neighborhood

The location is in one of the most sought-after areas of the city, well served by beautiful beaches and public lidos (that offer the warmest ocean water in Portugal) with very nice restaurants and beach bars around, as well as a spectacular coastal promenade.

There are also many hotels nearby offering top quality entertainment and a great ambiance overall.

On the opposite side of the street there is a modern shopping mall ('Madeira Forum') with a large selection of shops, a big supermarket, a food court, a multiplex movie theater and several ATM machines.

Getting around

There is a bus stop right in front of the condo and a frequent bus service to the city center operating from 6:20am to 23:40pm in every 10 or 15 minutes (lines 01 and 02 heading downtown). The trip takes about 15 minutes and bus tickets normally cost 2€/person if bought on-board (or 1,35€/person if bought in advance) although there are cheaper alternatives such as 3-day tickets (11,8€/person) and 5-day tickets (16,30€/person) that offer unlimited trips.

Taxis are also relatively cheap in Madeira and, depending on the hour/traffic, a ride downtown costs less than 10€ and takes about 10 minutes.

However, if you prefer to enjoy some magnificent views then you can also walk to the city center (~25 minutes) or to the old town (~50 min) although I don't recommend it on a regular basis.

The venue is not suitable for guests with limited mobility because of a stairway with 14 steps (2 flights of stairs with 7 steps each) leading from the elevator hall to the front door.

House rules:

- 200€ damage deposit required upon arrival. It must be paid in cash and will be fully returned at check-out if no damage is done to the property.
- 30€ charge applies when checking-in after 9:00pm.
- The second bedroom is exclusive for parties of 3 or more guests. For smaller parties to use the second bedroom it will be necessary to pay extra 25€/night during check-in (not included in the reservation price).
- No pets allowed.
- Smoking only allowed in the balcony.
