Comfortable Split Level 4 Bedroom House With Lovely Sea Views Out To Skye
4 Bedroom house. Built on hill side overlooking harbour to Skye. On the lower floor there is 1 double bedrooms and one twin bedroom as well as a bathroom and utility room with washing machine and dryer. On the main floor there is living room with sliding doors onto a glass walled balcony with views out to sea and spectacular sunsets. There is a kitchen / dining room again with views out to sea. There is also a double bedroom and shower room on this floor. On the top floor is a twin room with en suite shower room. There is a further play area here with small pool table . We find that we spend our time on the balcony if we want to be outside enjoying the beautiful views out to Skye. There is parking for 3 cars.. we have repainted and updated the kitchen and living room this winter. The bathrooms were re -done very recently too so it is a lovely house to stay in. The main asset is the magnificent views from the main living rooms and balcony. We are positioned on the hill side above Charleston harbour with lovely views across the harbour out towards the tip of Skye. We have magnificent sunsets to enjoy from the dining room, living room and balcony. There is a small convenience shop at the harbour. Boat trips go out into the bay and the Minch and whales a dolphins often seen. You can walk over the headland to the gorgeous beach. There is a lovely 9 hole golf course at the back of the beach. You can walk to the Old Inn which serves good food. The valley behind the Inn has a lovely walk. There are many beautiful beaches in the area including Redpoint, Mellon Udrigle and Gruinard which should not be missed. Plenty of mountains to climb! Badechro inn is a great place to stop for a drink or book for a meal as it is right on the waters edge. We shop at the Shop at the pier and the Farm Shop for food as well as the Butchers in the Strath called Morrisons.
This house felt like a home from home for us. It is so comfortable and warm. The views from the fabulous lounge are spectacular and walks from the door to the harbour or up the glen were great for us.The evening pool tournaments added a competitive element to a perfect long weekend.weekend.
The house is large and offers a magnificent view of the ocean. Gairloch is beautiful village. However, all the furniture and equipment (including carpets, sofas, showers and even kitchen utensils) are outdated .stains on carpets and pillows.the house smells of moisture and the washing machine as well.In addition, some areas, notably the window surrounds, are not clean. Finally, the balcony balustrade and the handrail on the stairs to the children's playroom are dangerously unstable. This house has a lot of potential, but unfortunately no updates have been made. Finally, you are asked to clean the house and in particular to bring back empty glass bottles several kilometers from the house, which is not very easy, especially if you come without a vehicle.
We loved our stay in this gorgeous and spacious house in Gairloch - a special location for getting away from it all. Everything was as described and the views from the house were even more spectacular in real life! Would love to return one day
great place, views over Gairloch are nothing short of stunning whether grey and rainy or 10 minutes later, glorious sunshine. House has a good size kitchen diner and a fantastic lounge with the bonus of a games room on the top floor. Couldn't fault it, even the teenagers enjoyed it.
Our fourth stay in this lovely house. Perfect for our family group. We love the spacious living areas, beautiful views and very comfy beds.
Would only be improved by an over the bath shower in the downstairs bathroom- itâs otherwise perfect!
Excellent value property which suited our group of adults very well. It would also be good for children as there is an excellent playroom. Not great for those of limited mobility as there are lots of stairs.
Really good view and the area is fantastic - do go! Thank you
Dejligt hus.
There were five of us ages ranged from 58 to 75 and we all enjoyed ours stay the view from the house was stunning you had everything you needed in the kitchen and we has 3 showers in the 3 toilets we all had a great time and when we had a mishap the host was very helpful all in all excellent place to book
A lovely house in a lovely location, with great view of the port and the islands from the balcony.
A welcoming family home. Fully equipped with many extra touches, local information, games, books, even a pool table.
We loooooooved the cozy and spacious cottage and the area and scenery and the magnificent sunsets. The location was spot on for hiking, coast walking, fishing, golfing, and foraging :). Would love to be back. Thank you !
This property is perfect for a stay in Gairloch, and as a base for visiting the wider west coast. The pictures really do not do it justice - there is a beautiful balcony we spent most nights sitting on with a gorgeous view over the harbour, and the rooms and living areas are much more spacious than expected. Would stay here again and highly recommend it!
Roomy and well organised house; three floors, four bedrooms, three bathrooms - plenty of space for everyone. We especially loved the big lounge with picture windows and balcony overlooking the harbour
We stayed at Glenbrae 10 years ago when our children were much smaller so it was lovely to return again. The house is really spacious and well suited to a large family group. The play room is a great addition especially the pool table which was used regularly. The beds were comfortable, the showers were reliable and hot and the wifi stood up to the pressure of several teenagers without complaint. The area is one we have visited a few times now and we always find something new to do. The pub is next door and we had a lovely meal there, the shops and cafe on the pier are within walking distance and the centre of Gairloch is not too far either. We were blessed with a week of gorgeous weather meaning we spent lots of time at the beach, Red Point was particularly beautiful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay in this lovely property. It is well equipped with plenty of living space and a lovely view from the balcony and dining room. Great location too and something for everyone from ages 22 to 84! We would love to return..
Check-in / check-out was easy. The beds were clean and very comfortable. Some fixtures, furnishings and kitchenware could do with being replaced/upgraded but overall was a nice place to stay to explore Gairloch and surrounding area. The balcony is good but the view of the bay is becoming a bit obscured with trees. Would also have liked there to have been an enclosed garden for our dog but with the position of the house, thatâs just not feasible. The Chinese takeaway in Gairloch is fantastic but would recommend you avoid the Wee Curry Hoose in Poolewe - it was a complete waste of money. Good meals and value for money at the Myrtle Bank Hotel, and as with most places in the area, was also dog friendly.
This was our 2nd stay, hopefully not our last. We did feel the house seemed a bit tired since our visit 3 years ago but itâs such a wonderful house with that view that it really didnât matter. The beds and duvets were really comfortable and house lovely and warm. Perfect for our group
Very spacious property with amazing views. âWowâ is the only word to describe the views from the living room! The description on the website and the photos donât do this property justice - it is far more spacious and has an excellent âgames roomâ on the top floor which the kids loved.
It is a good base but if you want to eat out then book in advance either The Barn @ the sands
It was really spacious house with plenty of space to be comfortable the views over the gairloch harbour were great midges at night typical of the area but did not stop us enjoying ourselves.
