Everyone will love the relaxing surroundings, the close access to the beach and the beach club, and the Great Views! This condo is one of the best values at Pointe West! The whale House is an ocean view Second-floor condo just a few minutes walk to the beach. With fantastic views, ocean breezes, and comfortable furnishings, The Whale House offers the perfect vacation for large families or multiple friends traveling together.

The centerpiece of the Pointe West resort is the stunning oceanfront Beach Club. Overlooking three miles of pristine Gulf of Mexico shoreline, this incredible full-service facility is unlike anything else on the Texas coast. The Beach Club offers endless choices to suit your mood... soak up the sun beside the pool, or soak away your cares in a bubbling hot tub. Play games with your kids or work up an appetite at the Fitness Center. You can also order food and drinks at The Pointe West Restaurant. The Beach Club is a complete—and totally relaxing—vacation destination.


Wristbands for Pointe West Beach Club amenities are $25 per person for the stay and sold by the Beach Club. Wristbands not required to stay in unit.



WHY POINTE WEST?: Pointe West is a world-class resort that offers families and friends a unique opportunity to make vacation memories that will last a lifetime. It offers a beach club that makes the worries of the day melt away and you just take it all in. A family-friendly experience where everyone is there for the same reason - having good fun! The Resort is independently run and charges $25 per person, (3 years or older) The use of the Beach Club is optional. The access fee is paid by credit card or cash directly to the Beach Club and is not included in rental rates.

Why the whale house? It is everything you could want in a vacation experience! It is immaculate, offers a host of amenities, and delivers what it promises - spacious, well-appointed home in pristine condition with a floor plan that takes travelers' needs into consideration. The master suite is private and the condo includes a fully furnished kitchen, washer/dryer in the unit, TVs, and reserved parking. Everything you need to make the most of your vacation!

There is an elevator in the building. However, We at Coastal Waves are not responsible for the maintenance of the elevators. There are no refunds for elevator malfunctions.

Great Getaway

Despite having rain all weekend, we really enjoyed our stay! Beds and sheets were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Great location and close to the club house. Loved the patio furniture. We wish the bathrooms would have been a little cleaner. Overall we would return and loved all of the little touches the owners thought of! Thank you!

Fabulous! Perfect beach vacation rental!

This place has it all; beach views, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, games and puzzles, beach chairs and shelter, pool access, short walk to the beach, etc. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. We loved every second of our stay! Our two families were happy with the two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Our teens were comfortable in the bunk room. It was perfect for our two families of four. The second living area was perfect for kids to watch TV while the adults watched in the other area. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast, burgers, bake cinnamon rolls, brew coffee, etc. We will definitely stay here again!

Family getaway

After a busy weekend of competition in Houston, we drove to Galveston to spend the week at the Whale House. I could not ask for a better condo. It was beautiful, clean and you can easily tell that the owners have thought of everything in order to make the stay, one to remember. Buttery soft bed linens, plush towels, extra beach towels and a storage unit full of beach things (chairs, toys, wagon, etc). The complex/community has a ton of amenities and beach access is a piece of cake. We’ll definitely be returning here!

Our stay at the Whale House!

The Whale was a beautiful property! Very clean, decorated in a beach theme and equipped with everything you should need! There were only a few housekeeping items that needed some attention. They are listed below! The microwave was not working properly. The fridge and freezer had a bit of a fish smell. The tv in the kids’ play area lost wireless connection halfway through our stay. The code to get in the condo did not work so we had to use and share the key with other family members. And last but not least, there were ants in kitchen and family room. Other than these items, it was wonderful! Perfect location and so nice to have access to the beach and to the Beach Club!

We will definitely be back!!

The Whale House was a great place to stay. We had everything we needed and more. The owners supplied chairs, wagons, sunshades and plenty of toys for our stay on the beach. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals. There was plenty of room for all seven of us to enjoy the TV in the living room and the dining room table where we ate and played games. The beds were very comfortable with nice linens We had amazing views off of both decks. The pool at the Beach Club was perfect in the evening and the hot tub was a nice way to relax after our stay on the beach. We all enjoyed ourselves so much that we will be back!

Issues but we made the best of it

11 emails were sent from this mgt company prior to checking in which is quite ridiculous. We didn't see the invoice of paying an extra $25 per person to use the amenities on property so we didn't get to get the wristband from them until the front office opened the next morning. Budget that extra fee in and don't expect help after hours. We expected to eat on the property but the bar and restaurant was closed which was not disclosed. Pool was freezing cold (may) and closes at 10pm. This condos shower was not functional in our 3rd bathroom and maintainace man couldn't fix it. Wifi and tvs kept disconnecting. The fire alarms also went off, (fire fighters say they are out at Pointe West multiple times a day for fire alarms) but if you don't know that, this disrupts your stay. We called several numbers to get help on the shower and alarm, only emails were answered. Elevator was broken, - not fun to load up to leave climbing flights of stairs. There was long black hairs in bathroom and in our "fresh" sheets. Several dishes were dirty upon taking them out. Cleaning needs to be addressed a bit better. We will say, the unit was well equipped with everything you could need and we appreciated that, especially the coffee pods and creamer. The welcome snack basket was awesome. Thank you! We loved the balcony, floorplan and close walking proximity to the beach, although this beach is not very big with the dunes. Bring chairs, no dry sand. Pointe West community fell short this time

Breathtaking

When i saw this property on the site i was impressed by the pictures. As i walked into the property it felts as of i was embraced with a hug saying welcome!! The thought and time that went into each detail of the aesthetics of this home was immaculately done. I absolutely LOVED and enjoyed being in this space. The balcony alone deserves its own separate review. The views are breathtaking. The breeze from the ocean as i slumbered on the lounge chair instantly caused me to snooze a bit. I can go on on and about a lot of intricate details like how comfy the beds were on down to the sofa. But I’ll spare you and sum it up by saying the pictures does this place no justice! It’s airy, spacious, comfortable, just absolutely beautiful! It will not disappoint. They had everything i needed for a home away from home vacay. Absolutely everything! Even though i provided my own things, i was still impressed on the extra unmentioned amenities and surplus of supplies that were available in the event i did need anything in which i did. I truly felt at home. I was truly impressed. Thank you for sharing the Whale and thank you for the OFF insect repellent because i wasn’t aware of the aggressive mosquitoes at night time! lol We had a blast and will return! Great Job!

The condo itself was perfect. The kitchen had every thing you need to to cook. We have three-year-old toddlers and they had so much fun playing with all the new toys. They had it all!!

We had an incredible experience at the Whale house! My family and I are a group of designers and we were so very impressed by the aesthetics! But they took it a step further with comfort, accessibility, functionality, communication, customer service, and so many other things!! My daughter is 1 and my niece is almost two and they pulled out all the stops with toys, high chair, pack and play, and so forth! And they were all top of the line! But yet as adults it still felt like an escape and luxury stay! The bedding! I am buying it! Can’t say enough good things! We will be back! Absolutely perfect!!

The Whale House is a whale of a good time

Very nicely stocked and very clean. Property manager was very quick and responsive any time we needed anything. We actually had a medical emergency in the middle of the night (everyone is ok now)and Pointe West security was very quick to arrive and assist until the EMS could arrive from Galveston.
