Waterfront Canal Retreat with Cowboy Pool & Dock

Built on a deep water canal in Jamaica Beach, The Crab Shack is a cozy A-frame with a delightful beach vibe. There’s space for eight people across three bedrooms and an expansive deck that reaches out over the water providing tons of elevated outdoor space for lounging, dining, or fishing. A shaded space under the home has a charcoal grill and boat dock alongside a Cowboy soaking pool and fire pit. The Crab Shack is a quick drive away from the beach, grocery stores, and west end restaurants.

Location: Jamaica Beach community of Galveston, Texas

Beach access: Just a two minute drive from the Jamaica Beach access point. Cars and golf carts are allowed to park on the beach.

Private pool: We have a Cowboy soaking pool on the ground level that can comfortably fit up to 8 people when it's time to relax and cool off.

Community Amenities: Guests have access to the Jamaica Beach community pool (open Memorial Day thru Labor Day - $5 per person) and city park.

WINTER TEXAN RATE: If you’re trying to escape to the Gulf Coast for the winter. Please ask us about our reduced monthly rates October 1 - March 1.

Pest Control: Due to the coastal environment, mosquitoes & seasonal pests may be present. Professional pest control treatments are performed monthly.

Cable: We provide Roku with access to Sling TV for live television channels. Guests are welcome to log into their own Amazon Prime, Netflix, or other streaming service apps as well.

Pet policy: Up to 2 pets are welcome in our home with a $25 fee per pet. We ask that pets stay off all furniture, are cleaned up after in the yard, and aren't left alone inside the home unless in a crate or kennel. Please message us if you’re planning on bringing your furry friend!

Parking: We can fit up to 3 cars under the carport and on the driveway.

Party Policy: No parties are allowed at our home. Please look elsewhere if that is the intent of your trip.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations are subject to a 3% credit card processing fee.

Age Requirement: Guests must be 24+ to book.

The Crab Shack has a fully fenced yard, perfect for pets and kids. Outside, an expansive deck space spans out over the boat dock and the canal below. Host a family dinner at the alfresco dining space, while a pastel pink sunset lights up the sky above you.

Walking into the home, the open and airy living space has a stylish mid-century style with tons of natural light. There’s a fully stocked kitchen and ample seating for everyone between the stools at the bar and the dining table. A full bathroom off the living space has a cabin-like vibe, with knotty pine walls, a clean white vanity, and a tub/shower combo.

Off the living area, a fun bunk room has a twin-over-twin bed and a queen-size bed. Up the spiral staircase, you’ll find two more bedrooms and a half bath. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and access to a third-floor balcony overlooking the full deck below and the canal. The second bedroom also has a king-size bed and looks out over the quiet neighborhood.

On the ground level, there’s a laundry room complete with washer/dryer. There’s also a game room to get some shade or catch the game on TV while enjoying the outside space. A covered boat dock makes the perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon of fishing— or launching kayaks into the canal. The barbeque area is shady and cool, complete with a Cowboy soaking pool and an outdoor shower which is an absolute must after a day at the beach or pool. This super-charming, bohemian retreat is the perfect home base for a getaway to the Texas coast.

House Rules:
- Guests must be 24+ to book the property.
- One-night stays must be approved.
- Groups larger than 6 need to be approved. We do not allow parties.
- Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am.
- Any damages to the house or property during your stay will result in a deduction or additional charge for the resulting repair/replacement cost.
- All pets must be approved by our team, stay off of all furniture, be cleaned up after in the yard, and not left alone inside the home unless in a kennel.
- No parking allowed on lawns, yards, empty grass lots or other neighbors’ driveways, even if their home appears unoccupied.
- Oversized vehicles/trailers are not permitted unless explicit approval has been received from our team.
- Do not turn the AC below 70 degrees. If you do, you will risk the AC unit freezing up, requiring it to thaw out which will result in the home getting extremely warm.
- No jumping or diving into the water.
- This community only allows BLACK TRASH BAGS. We provide trash bags under the kitchen sink. Please refrain from using white bags.
- Should an eviction occur due to breaking house rules (noise ordinance violations, excessive guests and/or vehicles beyond the agreed amount), there will be an $850 fine.
