This cozy one bedroom cabin is the perfect getaway. Its heated, has Air conditioning. There is a microwave, fridge, and sink. Close to everything fun in Bear Lake, its located about 100 yards from the famous Pickleville Playhouse. Have a fire, roast hot dogs and marshmallows. There is plenty of parking for your boat and toys. Enjoy the beach and water, take a trip on the RZR... Whatever you want to escape too!!

Just What We Needed

Didn’t need anything fancy, just a place to sleep. Cabin is right next to the road, but once inside, it’s quiet. Great shower, nice and clean, bed was comfortable. Plenty of parking if you bring your boat. If you want a clean, well kept property, no frills cabin, this is a great place to stay. Property has multiple cabins, would be great if you had a large group and wanted your own space at the end of the day. I will definitely return for another stay.

Clean but problem with Beds and Security

Cabin was clean and the AC worked well. However this was supost to be a room with 2 Queen beds. One of the Queen beds was just the box spring. However it was made up with a sheet, pillows and comforter. This was missleading. Also the security of the location was not great. There was a 4 digit code for room access that was very obvious. So if you have stayed there before you can figure the code for any of the cabins.

No check in process, cold, no communication.

1. There were no instructions on how to check in. The contact provided on the confirmation had a full voicemail and did not respond to a text. No alternate contacts provided. Fortunately, there was a neighbor cabin that provided a number to owner. After an hr we finallly were given a code to enter the cabin. We got the cabin code, and the room was not made up, dirty floor, bare beds, spiders, no towels, and very cold. After extreme frustration for an hr, he gave a code to the cabin next over which was available. It was slightly better, but still cold, dirty floor, one towel, half roll TP. We went out for food and locked the door handle. That was a huge mistake because apparently you are only supposed to use the deadbolt code and not the door handle lock. They (owners) did not have keys and said we shoudn't have done that! This was a saturday night in November at bear lake, which was basically deserted for the winter. We went to dinner and 3 hrs later they somehow unlocked the door. The cabin also has a very tiny heater and it took over 5 hrs just to get to a temp that you didn't have to wear a heavy coat. And it was running all night and needed heavy blankets to sleep. A very unpleasant stay and not a place to stay in cold conditions. In summary, they need at a minimum some basic directions on this horrible property for checking in, who to communicate with, and how not to get locked out of the cabin. Just don't stay here and save your sanity.

We were disappointed in finding that there was no toilet paper, we could not get the T.V. to work, and the quilt on the bed was covered with hair. We attempted to contact the property manager but had no answer.

Thought we had paid for the entire rental at the time of reservation but there was no communication from the property manager to know that we had only Paid deposit. No request to pay the balance and when we arrived at property it was impossible to reach the property manager. Luckily we found a hotel or we would have been SOL! Pretty disappointed with the whole experience. And they kept our deposit on top of everything

Christmas in July

We rented 4 cabins and had a wonderful time. The cabins were very clean and had everything we needed except washcloths! The owners were often around and easy to speak with. Being near the highway was no problem and we all slept well. Everyone in the area was extremely helpful and friendly.

Nice break

This cabin was very comfortable and roomier than expected. I was delighted that it had a little refrigerator for my leftovers. It could use a few more dishes to complete the small kitchen, which we did not expect. I liked that it had a soft bed and a harder bed. My husband and I got to sleep in the bed that suited us. The toilet kept running, but it did not disturb us.

Highway and amenities

Pulled up and casually asked the fire bike guy and he dismissed me completely and said I needed to talk to the maids which the old laundry was still out on the porch when I arrived hence why I was asking if the cabin was available or I needed to check in. Upon arrival it is only four stations on the TV, you are next to the highway which will wake you up all night and the air-conditioning was not working and the pillows look like a child’s bedroom. Also there was no toiletries or coffee cups so if you come please be sure to bring all of that and the toilet was running the whole night. I left at 6 AM to get back home.

Not worth the price

Convenient for lake fun and out doors stuff which is good because the cabin itself was not up to standards for the price. Requested cabin with single bed and got one with two instead so didn't get what I paid for right off the bat. Linens didn't include wash cloths. A/C couldn't be adjusted or shut off. Heater was way too small for the room. Very few TV channels so a guest would almost have to bring a laptop or a Roku device to watch anything. Fire pit was filled with garbage and the people at shaved ice place next door were very loud. An elderly couple switched cabins from the one they originally booked almost immediately because the one they had was used by another guest the night before so I believe there was no house keeping service cleaning the cabins after each use. Was it close to everything that should be experienced? Yes. Was it worth the price? Absolutely not. Especially for the off season.

Weekend getaway

Great place for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed the cabin and how close it was to pickleville playhouse and garden city. It was also fun to be right next to the custard shop. The heater worked on the night it was cold and rainy and the AC worked on the night it was hot. So we were able to stay comfortable throughout. The only complaint we had was the poor wifi. We were never able to connect our phones to it unless we were over by the custard shop. Other than that it was great!

Cute Cabin, But

Management needs to pay attention to checkin times. Beds not made up -- No sheets! No towels or washcloths. Finally got sheets & towels at 9:15pm. Also, Coffee cups should be provided. There is a nice coffee pot & filters -- but no cups!

It was a nice little cabin but the beds were horrible

my back hasn’t hurt so bad in at least 15 years. The bathroom was nice but there were only 2 towels for our 3 night stay and one roll of toilet paper..,
 totally unacceptable. Also the place should have a small desk or table and a couple of chairs. Also a sign or laminated card with internet access information. I own a business and that was a serious inconvenience,

Bear lake cabin

This is a nice looking cabin type property. The cabin inside was lacking some finishings that showed in the pictures, such as table and chairs to eat at. There are no dishes or utensils in the kitchen., it has a very small fridge. The floor inside was not clean and I had to ask for top sheets when we arrived. As far as this type of rental, I have been in many others where small amenities are provided, bath soap, kitchen dishes, kitchen towels, etc. I would probably not pay this much again to stay there. Also, the WiFi information provided never did work.

Not as good as before

This was our third time staying at this property. The cabins in general are simple and nice. I was surprised on this visit to find a Burt out light in the shower. No shower curtain which made the floor in the bathroom very wet and have no soap or shampoo for the shower, had to go to the store to purchase a bar of soap. We luckily brought our own shampoo. Not sure we will bother to stay here again. Other than this we still had a pleasant stay.

We loved the stay. It was quite and clean, with updated features and super close to the lake. The owner was accommodating. We are booking a year in advance for our next trip to make sure we don't miss out!

Needs some tender love and care

We received check-in information the morning of our stay which was nice. I attempted to text the owner with a question, no response. Fair enough. The place was pretty adorable however it appeared the previous tenants items such as their used washcloth and soaps where still in the shower. I also had to add water to the bathroom hand soap dispenser to be able to wash my hands. Later in the evening we wanted to watch some TV. The WiFi at this cabin is not strong enough to stream movies on their TV or on our iPad so bring some entertainment like cards (which we thankfully had). Prior to bed I used the restroom and an absolutely awful egg like scent started coming from the bathroom and lingered for hours. We put the sheet over our noses and just went to bed. We were having issues with getting the lock to close on our departure. I called and text the owner with no response. Overall it’s a cute place not too far from town but with the smell, lack of cleanliness, and poor WiFi, I wouldn’t pay the current price to rent it again.

Perfect getaway cabin

We were very impressed with this cabin. First of all, the air conditioner was not your standard in-window version many small cabins have. This one actually had a real wall-mounted air conditioner which quickly and quietly cooled the entire cabin. The next surprise was a full refrigerator vs the small one in the pictures. The shower was amazing....plenty of pressure as well as a full size water heater. If that was not enough, there was a flat screen tv and Blu-Ray player which we could get Netflix on. We were also able to walk to the Pickleville Playhouse which was an added bonus. Would definitely stay there again.

What an absolute nightmare

We arrived at the cabins during a thunderstorm. The property owner sent us a keycode for Cabin #2 which didn't work. We called the property owner (PO) 2-3 times, he didn't pick up. So, we decided to try Cabin #1 because the photo on the listing showed #1 and rain was pouring. The code worked for Cabin #1. 5-10 mins in, we started smelling sewer but it got worse over time. We opened the windows and turned on the A/C and left to join the 4th celebrations. On our return, it seemed that the smell was a little better, so we closed the windows and kept the A/C on. 15 mins later, the smell came back. We called the PO about 5 times, he didn't pick up. We texted him, he didn't respond. We finally had to leave the property after 10pm and drive to Idaho to find a place to stay. We called him in the morning, he didn't pick up again. Finally, he responded to our message we sent him via VRBO. (We sent them the images of the bugs we found near the smell.) He said he'd check the cabin. It was 3 or 4 pm in the afternoon when he finally called us after we reached out to VRBO and complained. He said the only reason the code for #2 worked for #1 worked was because #1 was unlocked. (Real secure!!) He said he'd give us a refund if he can rent out the cabin again because by this time we found a b&b to take us in. He told us he still hadn't checked the cabin, that he was sending "somebody" to check for the smell. Next day, he told us there was no smell and he wouldn't refund us. We contacted VRBO and filed a property complaint. We still haven't heard back. I do not recommend this property nor VRBO. Use a different rental website instead of VRBO or just book a hotel, much safer and professional. We recommend a local bed and breakfast (if you Google it, it’ll come up). They took us in after a night from hell.
