Please remember that you're staying in our home, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on-site 24/7. However, we have a local team if anything is needed.

We love hosting pet owners! If you’re bringing a dog, please add them on your reservation. There is a pet fee $150 total, if you add a pet to your reservation, it will reflect into the nightly rate. 2 dogs max. Undisclosed pets will be charge $500.

Pool Access: You will have free access to 3 outdoor clubhouse of the Chalet Village Owners Club. Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. 9AM to 9PM.

The Upper Alpine clubhouse is the closest with an outdoor pool with pool table, foosball, air hockey, video game and a game table.

The S Baden Clubhouse has game room has pool tables, ping pong, foosball table, checkers, chess and video games and gym.

Also you will be driving up mountain roads on the way to the cabin. The roads are paved and well maintained by the City of Gatlinburg. A large garbage truck drives up 3x a week, if they can do it, you can too! The views and privacy at the top will be worth it.

We have Ring security camera in front of the driveway. Security cameras are activated by motion and will record anyone that walks in front of them. These recordings are saved and can be reviewed and shared with the booking platform, if needed. If we believe that house rules are being violated, we have the ability to access these cameras in real time.

The owner was so accommodating - views are unreal! We really enjoyed watching the gondola go over the deck and saw bears almost every day we were there. Can’t beat the location - only took us about 10 minutes to get to the Gatlinburg entrance to the park (and Crockett’s for breakfast!). Beds were comfortable and house is very clean.

Unforgettable Mountain experience with daily bear sightings, incredible views and cozy beds!

What more could you ask for? This was hands down the best experience I’ve ever had in the Smoky Mountains and I’ve been coming for years. The view from the cabin is absolutely breathtaking. Pictures don’t do it justice, you just have to see it for yourself.We saw so many bears every single day, both in the yard and along the drive up the mountain. The mama bear with her 3 babies was our favorite! Watching them roam added so much excitement to our trip, and it was a highlight for everyone in our group.The cabin itself was spotless and felt like home the moment we walked in. It was spacious, cozy, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We had 8 people total—4 adults and kids ages 14, 13, 8, and 6—and it was perfect for all of us.One of the most fun surprises was waving at the aerial tram as it passed over the top deck! Even more fun was seeing the passengers’ reactions when they spotted the bears in our yard.While the cabin is up the mountain and an adventure on the way up (lol) we drove a 2WD Nissan Rogue with no issues at all. The driveway is flat and very manageable and it’s only about 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg!If you’re looking for unbeatable views, up-close bear encounters, and a clean, comfy place to stay—this is it. And I can’t say enough about the host—so kind, incredibly accommodating, and quick to respond.10/10. Highly recommended!

Fantastic cabin!!

What a wonderful time we had staying at this location! The layout of the house was perfect for our two families. The kids loved staying in the bunk beds down in the game room and loved playing pool, using the arcade, and watching tv down there. It has a spacious kitchen that allowed us to make many meals at home and we ate most dinners out on the upper deck with the beautiful view. The lower deck was so peaceful with the comfortable chairs, serene lighting, and the hot tub. Every single bed was so comfortable and all areas were exceptionally clean. Jeffrey was immediately accessible with any questions we had throughout our stay . We saw multiple bears every day that we were there (once on the railing of our porch and we watched one climb into the next door neighbors’ car so be aware!) We had stayed nearby once before, so we were prepared for the drive up to the house, but this takes some getting used to if you’re not from the area! We appreciated the flat driveway . We used the clubhouse twice, which was a short drive from the cabin and it had a very nice pool, tennis/basketball courts, and great (free) games inside. Quick 10 minute drive to be downtown. Love Ski Mountain Pizza and wings nearby. Everything about this place was a 10/10 and we were so sad to leave. Would stay here again in a heartbeat if we come back to the area!

It was hard to say goodbye to Chalet in the Sky

What a memorable stay at Chalet in the Sky, the cabin was larger than we expected. We were a family of 4 adults my daughter occupied the loft bedroom, my wife and I the main floor bedroom and my son the lower level bedroom. It felt like we all had our own private spaces. We met in the kitchen every morning for coffee and had breakfast on the deck enjoying the breathtaking views of the mountains. What a way to start the day!We planned our daily activities and traveled down the mountain to either Gatlinburg (15 mins) or Pidgeon Forge (25 mins) both very easily accessible routes. In the late afternoon we returned to the cabin had a light lunch break, took showers and attended to our two small dogs (6lb yorkie and 7lb maltipoo). After some rest time we traveled back down the mountain for dinner, having many wonderful options to choose from in Gatlinburg or Pidgeo Forge. After dinner would make our way back to the cabin for a relaxing sit in the jacuzzi hot tub, followed by a movie in the lower level theater style room. Some days we would choose to play pool, video games (my wife is a Pac-Man champ).We would cap off the night on the top deck looking down at the town of Gatlinburg all lit up like a beacon in the night. It was an extra treat to see the Ober tram pass by and to wave to the folks man’s have them wave back. One day it rained, so we decided to stay in for the night. After the rain we could see why they call them the smokies. It felt like we were in the clouds.

Amazing Family Vacation

Outstanding stay at the Chalet! Beautiful mountain house with plenty of space for the whole family. Decks are wonderful with tons of space for entertainment and relaxing. Views are simply gorgeous and the property is a wonderful, quiet relaxing getaway from the hustle & bustle of Gatlinburg strip. Location is great with a quick and easy drive into town to experience Gatlinburg. Very clean, well-equipped and description of property was spot on. Communication with host and check-in/out was exceptional. Highly recommend this property for your next family getaway. We can't wait to go back! A++

absolutely amazing!!!!

After 30+ plus years visiting the area and staying in various properties throughout, Chalet in the Sky is definitely top-notch and in our top 2 favorites! The view is absolutely breathtaking: day and night. The mountains and downtown Gatlinburg with the tram going overhead was such a treat!,,,,,,,,, and Bears!! we had bear visits every single day we were there!! It was so peaceful and we spent most of our time just hanging out there because we had so much to do and enjoy!! Cabin was exactly as listed and the driveway was flat (another favorite) and had plenty of room for several cars. Jeff was an absolute angel!! Very, very responsive and even helped us old folks get the smart tv going. He was always available and very kind. An absolute pleasure to work with! Our entire stay - from start to finish was truly amazing!! we would absolutely use this property or any other hosted by Jeff in the future. Would definitely recommend this property to others! I give 20 stars!!!

Top floor mattress

For the cost and to have a mattress on the top floor king so cheap is a bit silly! Beautiful place for sure!

Spring Break

We booked our stay last minute. The host was excellent to communicate with and very accommodating. The cabin was very nice and had plenty for all ages. The views the cabin provides are excellent. Would stay again.

Beautiful spot to enjoy the mountains

Enjoyed 4 nights here over spring break at the end of March. The house is spacious and has everything you could need. We really enjoyed the decks to take in the view of the mountains and Gatlinburg, especially the hot tub! So nice to enjoy the sunrise from the hot tub. We also used it at the end of the day - cool to see the city lights of Gatlinburg. The downstairs movie/gaming area was really nice, too. Gatlinburg was very busy, so we spent most of our time at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (also busy, but if you can get there early and find a parking spot, the trails were amazing!) The close proximity to the park was definitely a plus!

Amazing experience

Fantastic experience at this location. Beautiful view of Gatlinburg, great location, and huge cabin with a ton of entertainment! Would highly recommend booking your stay here.

BEST experience by far with VRBO!

We booked this cabin very short notice, due to my husband's recent knee surgery. We arrived from Texas with 5 kids ( 21, 15, 13, 7, 2, and a dog)... the rooms were VERY spacious, very clean, enough linen/towels/pillows/kitchen supplies/blankets, kitchen was very well stocked, furniture was comfortable and in excellent condition, and the parking was ample for several vehicles if needed. The management company or owner (Jeff) has excellent communication skills and stayed in touch the entire time... we had ZERO issues and he still checked in with us regularly. Check in and check out instructions were perfect and easy to follow. Ok... THE VIEWS: the BEST views by far... you can see the town, the tram runs right over the cabin (very quietly, you don't even know its running), but the views, views, views!! One piece of advice I do recommend for Jeff, invest in a professional excellent photographer to come photograph the cabin at night and during the day... the pictures on the listing DO NOT do this cabin justice. They were beautiful but once you visit in person, it is obvious that the listed photos do not display what we experienced on arrival to the cabin. Also, maybe I missed it, a small portable binder or recommendations posted on a magnet on the fridge sharing local restaurants, attractions, local grocery markets, and great/best spots to visit close to the cabin would be a nice little extra. Excellent experience and will be traveling to this cabin again.
