Gettysburg Getaway! Battlefields/Wineries/Ski!
A cozy farmhouse located outside of Gettysburg with a gorgeous water view. It is a quiet location away from the center of Gettysburg. Enjoy the abundance of wineries, skiing, forests, battlefields, wildlife and trout stocked waters while only being 8 miles from Lincoln Square in Gettysburg and Ski Liberty! This is the perfect getaway for any family who wants to experience the history of Gettysburg, ski at Ski Liberty, enjoy the many wineries or just simply relax!
The owner was easy to communicate with and always responded in a timely manner. The house was in a great location to enjoy a walk around the pond and easily drive to downtown Gettysburg. We enjoyed spreading out and cooking in the large kitchen with family.
We were provided with an incorrect phone number for the host. Also, it took the host more than 48 hours (sometimes 5 days or more) to respond to questions.
The house was clean and comfortable. It is in a good location for sightseeing. The kitchen is very large and well stocked with cookware and utensils. All in all we enjoyed our stay and had a great long weekend.
From what I saw the kitchen was equipped for cooking, although we ate our meals out. Single/multi cup coffee maker, but make sure you bring coffee/creamer and sugar (there were sweetner and cream & even some coffee pods--but for 4 adults it wasnt near enough). You also might want 'real TP'; single ply was hard to use for our 3 night stay, but it could have been worse. Outdoor space is nice, however it was hard to enjoy due to "quiet time" being at 9pm. We wanted to have a few drinks around the fire (and we did) but we were all worried about being quiet so it almost ruined the event. If you are coming for Gettysburg activities either bring LOTS of quarters or find "public parking" areas in Gettysburg. We stopped for dinner and 8 only gave us 2hours. We didn't see meters with CC options. Overall this is a great space with an enclosed outdoor area that is AWESOME! We didnt mess with the heating/cooling system; it was set on 70 and was comfortable.
My husband, father and I just spent 8 nights at this property. The front porch was completely covered which allowed us to sit out and enjoy the peaceful location even with lots of rain. The pond across the street was generous with its bass! We caught around 10, with a few smaller fish. Toured Gettysburg battlefields and museum which was just 13 minutes away! Would definitely recommend this property if you like a quiet, relaxing area.
The house is lovely and very clean. The upstairs bathroom has an odd setup, the tub can get slippery. There are individual portable ACs in both upstairs rooms, however the AC system downstairs will change to 78 degrees on its own during the day; made it hard to cool the house in the evenings. Would definitely stay again, just have to figure out the AC.
The house was everything it said very quaint, quiet, and good for a family. All the beds are comfortable with plenty of hot water. My only caution would be that the kitchen isn't equipped for major meal fixing if that's something you are preparing.
Loved this old farm house, modern kitchen, clean and comfortable furniture. Very quiet area, great back yard and front porch to wind down on. Littlr pond across the road. Everything as described and great communication with the owner. Would love to stay here again. Only 20 minutes from Gettysburg.
We had a great stay. The girls were able to have the upstairs to themselves like a little apartment. They loved the pool table as well. Highly recommendWill be using again
This property is a good location for seeing many Gettysburg attractions. Parking can be a little challenging but can made to work. The essential items are there but not abundant, need more towels and drinking glasses. The futons were not good for overnight sleeping especially for anyone other than children. There is not a lot of things to do in the evenings so outdoor/porch seating would be nice especially since the back yard was great. The kitchen is nice but the number of pots and pans is limited. The house is great for guys trip that it was but not sure if it would work for a family with kids.
Very nice property in relaxing location! Greatly enjoyed the proximity to Gettysburg and other area attractions while having a quiet spot to come back to. Perfect size for four adults and two kids.
My 2 sister snd I took my mom on a weekend trip. Everything was perfect just like the description says. The bedroom on the main level was a bonus since my mom is 75 and hard for her to climb stairs. The house was so clean and was decorated perfect the beds and sofa so comfortable. The kitchen is hugh and so much storage. We didnt cook but the kitchen is perfect for cooking and so spacious with everything you would need. They even left us snacks. It was so breath taking to see the sun come up from the lake across the street my boys already tryinh to plan a trip when i showed them pictures so they can go fishing. We definitely will stay again if ever in PA eeverything was comforti
This house is out in the country but yet we were able to visit Gettysburg easily. Large kitchen with all you need and three good size bedrooms. Well kept and clean. Huge bathroom on the second floor. Owner provided great suggestions for places to eat and drink. Would stay here again.
We really like the house that we stayed in for our trip. There was 6 of us, almost all of us over 60. The kitchen was very modern, the dining room fit us all, the living room was a little small but we made it work. The bedrooms were all very nice with extremely comfortable beds
Overall we had a nice stay in this cozy home. Super cute house, upstairs set up w/2 bedrooms, loft and a very large bathroom. This worked out well with my 3 young adult kids and their friends. Pool table in basement was a pleasant surprise. It is about a 15 minute drive to any store/restaurant. check-in was at 4:00 we arrived around 4:20 and cleaning lady was still there. The 1st floor bedroom (queen) mattress is not very comfortable, my kids said the other beds were great. Walls are very thin, we could hear everything, but it is an older home and to be expected.
