Anopolis Heraklion: Villa Fabrica - the old olives' press.
"Villa Fabrica is located in the traditional village of Anopolis, just 15 minutes from Heraklion airport and 5 minutes from the sandy Kokkini Hani beaches. Is a 100-year-old stone building, originally used as an olive factory, carefully restored into a traditional rustic style two-storey house suitable for 2-6 persons. It is quietly located in the village of Anopolis about 100 m from the village square. In the village one finds several cafenions, tavernas and a minimarket. Further shops, supermarkets, bars, ATM, can be found in Kokkini Hani some 3 km away, with a selection of local beaches. The gate opens into a small yard from where one enters the house. On the ground floor is a spacious and comfortable furnished living room and dining room with wooden ceiling, TV,stone built fireplace, separate WC with washing machine. Next to it is a cosy terrace full of flowerpots and surrounded by a small garden,a BBQ and a stone oven. The perfect place to unwind, after a long day's journey. The open plan fully equipped kitchen with dining room too is separated from the living room by a stone archway. From the living room a spiral staircase leads to the first floor into the bedroom with 2 single beds. A large veranda facing the Dikti Mountains and the Monastery of Agios Ioannis can offer an amazing view over the countryside. Next to it there is a separate bedroom with double bed, a bathroom en suite with bath/WC and 2 balconies. A nice place to relax and take part in village life.It offers the unique combination of peace anong with modern comforts and easy access to city life."
Magnificent atmospheric house in a stunning traditional Cretan village.
Super views from the terrace!
I recommend to everyone who loves silence and who loves immersion in the real life of Crete

Efcharisto
A beautiful family space, quiet and close to everything we needed. Enjoyed use of the back garden and interior home. The views are breathtaking. Manolis and Evi were very hospitable and responsive. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Very large, rustic, beautifully restored building to keep its charm. Large living area, and only once enclosed bedroom. The other bedroom doesn't have a door but is just separated by a curtain. It has 2 bathrooms, and the upstairs one has a tub. The downstairs one has a small shower where the water tends to get the whole room wet. The area is a bit complicated to navigate with a car and even google maps. You have a good chance of going through roads that are very narrow, and almost getting stuck. Once we figured it out after a couple of days though, we were fine. Kokkini Hanni beach is a short driving trip away, which was one of our favorite beaches on our trip. It's also not far to Knossos to see the ruins there. The owner was a very nice gentleman that helped us with any issues we had. We enjoyed our stay.
A more beautiful place could not be found in a small village not far from Heraklion. Filled with comfort, Greek warmth and a lot of thoughtfulness.
Plenty of room, lovely patio and balconies off the upstairs bedrooms.
If youâre looking for some peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, look no further.
This wonderful, historic and spacious former olive press was perfect for our holiday in Crete. Itâs a beautiful conversion with tasteful furniture and art on the walls. Beautiful views, too, beyond the nearby monastery. And our host, Manolis, was very kind and helpful, recommending culture and beaches nearby.
We had a wonderful 5 days stay. The villa is tucked away in a quiet mountain village but close to beach and Heraklion. Excellent location for Knossos as well. Our host was lovely and very welcoming. And all his restaurant recommendations were excellent. A visit to The Golden Cage a must!
The view from the house was nice.
If youâre at the property at the begging of the week the local restaurant is not open and local market has bread only. You have to drive to the city for 15 min to the nearest market. We arrived at the property late Sunday evening a family of 4 with young kids and it was inconvenient not to have anything around for breakfast. Would have been nice the owner to give heads up about to bring snacks ( if needed).
The bed mattress was squeaky and uncomfortable. My husband and I had back pain every morning even though both of us in a good physical shape. No nice beaches around the area and not much to visit nature wise. We enjoyed our stay in Chania and visited all around. We were not very impressed with the area of Heraklion.
What a magical house! The village where it is located is like stepping into the past. It was a great experience for me and my family! The host was so nice and gave us a history of the house and the area. We absolutely loved our stay. The views of the mountains from the upstairs are absolutely beautiful! Cannot recommend enough!
This place was so nice, just perfect for our 3 week stay. The village was filled with friendly residents who greeted us daily and we came and went and we ate dinner four nights at the Golden Cage which we loved (it was a quick walk). I would highly recommend this lovely place.
Nice rustic experience with all the modern conveniences. The village and everyone in it were super pleasant and welcomed us in with open arms. The house (old olive mill) was very impressive and has many balconies and decks to sit and relax. I recommend if you want to stay out of the hustle of the city have a quiet time then this is the place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It has a beautiful view of the countryside, way up high on the mountain top and it overlooks a lovely monastery. We loved that it had two bathrooms and two bedrooms. This is a very roomy home. I could have spent a month here enjoying the solitude as we love being in small mountain villages. The owner has thought of everything. We felt right at home.
