Gallops Point was just what our family needed. Beautifully maintained and clean home and property. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and can’t wait to come back. Property management company was a pleasure to work with, excellent communication. Great experience all around.
Property is bright, clean and very well maintained. View is spectacular. The neighborhood is full of friendly folks. Communication with management was quick and easy. Great place for our little family trip!
This house is beautifully decorated and views are simple breathtaking! The bedding was very comfortable and the kitchen and family room seating were perfect for our family. Our kids loved the built in lazy susan in the table!
The amenity pass is a must to enjoy the pools and use the tennis and basketball courts! The neighborhood is great for family walks and biking! The neighbors are all very friendly and we loved seeing all the deer grazing around the area. The drive to Assateague Beach is about 45 minutes and Chincoteague is about 30 minutes from the house. We had a wonderful vacation and hope to come back someday!
We stayed here for a week in October. The house is lovely - great fireplace, peaceful waterfront, quiet neighborhood. Unfortunately, a severe fruit fly infestation disrupted our stay. A few were present on arrival, but several days in, they multiplied rapidly and were everywhere—bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, even outside on the deck. We couldn’t prepare food for a couple days because of them. The management company responded but said it was a "nature-based nuisance" and offered no help beyond suggesting we go out and purchase traps ourselves. We did and removed hundreds of fruit flies. Maybe it’s seasonal, but we’ve stayed at beach rentals in October for years and never experienced anything like this. With better pest control, this could be a fantastic rental.
This house was stellar. Beautiful location, amazing views, modern furnishings, etc. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. The downfall to this property was the listing company.
Before we even brought in our belongings, I informed the agency that the house was full of fruit flies. While they were attracted to food, they were everywhere, often congrating in the kitchen but also near any heat source (so bathroom mirrors, bedroom lights, living room fireplace,etc.). Since I didn't want to have to leave the property while they bug bombed the whole place, I told them we could deal but they needed to do something before the next guests arrived.
THEN, the TV went out during the middle of Sunday afternoon football. As I was trying to troubleshoot with the agency, I mentioned the bugs again and asked for a discount given the TV situation and constant fruit flies. They tried to tell me the bugs were gnats that were common to the area and that we just had to deal with it. I'm not that dumb. I know gnats, and I know fruit flies. You can absolutely do something about the latter, and they're not a regular pest that renters should have to deal with.
The point is the house was amazing. The fruit flies and agency service was not.
