Family Friendly Home in walking district, 5 minutes from beach

SPECIAL SNOWBIRD SHORT TERM LEASES AVAILABLE. Relax with the whole group at this peaceful home in central Gulf Shores. You’ll be in the quiet, older neighborhood in town that’s in the soon to be made entertainment district. A few blocks from Meyer Park where there are basketball courts and soccer/football intramural sports during the week, and a ten minute walk from Big Beach Brewery and a few restaurants and a cool coffee shop. 7 minute drive to the nearest public beach access and The Hangout.

Spaces:

Master bedroom has its own bath and closet. Guest bedroom one on the corner has a queen bed and closet. Guest room three has the same. There’s a full bathroom across the hall from bedroom three.

The living space and kitchen are open. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and there’s a large farmhouse dinner table for the whole group.

Animals are allowed depending on breed. 30$/night for 1 pet, additional $20/night for more than one pet. Please consult me.

If you’re interested in renting long term in the winter months (snowbirds or otherwise) please contact me about discounted rates.

Neighborhood:

This is the old neighborhood of Gulf Shores where front porches face the streets and everyone walks and bikes around. It’s a quiet area away from the rush of HWY 59 and the beach road traffic. There’s an easy access road through the state park to get to the beaches that doesn’t require you getting into the heavy traffic and condo areas of that part of town. Just ask me!

There’s a great park in the neighborhood and amenities within walking distance. Let me know any questions about what’s close or check my guide book. Seven minute drive to the beach and less than that to the Gulf State Park.

Loads of bike trails in the state park and around town. You could spend a whole day exploring Gulf Shores by bike and stop at any number of places for a bite to eat or a beverage. There are plenty of bike rental places around town.

Public boat launch less than 5 minutes away and there’s room for a boat to be parked in the driveway.

Wonderful Experience

First time using Vrbo and we had a wonderful stay. Will was communicative and quick to answer any questions we had about the dogs we were bring. His instructions were clear and the place was a joy to stay at. We will definitely consider staying again when we return to the area.

A great home in a great location

This home was perfect for our needs! We had 3 adults, two toddlers and our German shorthair pointer. The home was fully stocked and we were able to make all our meals which was such a relief. Everything was clean and exactly as described. We will absolutely stay again!

Short weekend trip with friends. We had fun. The house is close enough to the beach but just far enough away that you’re not in the middle of the major traffic. Plenty of restaurants near by.

Nice family home close to park

Will was super nice. He was very helpful with everything we needed. His home has a great layout for a small family. It’s just a couple blocks from the park. Our family enjoyed riding our bikes to the park. It’s a great neighborhood if you have pets. The streets aren’t very busy and there’s a dog park not too far away. Overall we had a great stay!

Our GO TO home

This was our second time to stay in this gem!! We won’t stay anywhere else!! It is VERY clean, everything is as it’s advertised, you won’t need for anything, no stairs, carport for the car, EXCELLENT cookware (lol, yes, we cook on vacation)… the owners are the friendliest and most accommodating people I’ve ever worked with. You won’t be disappointed!! We’ll be back in the spring, Will.. see you then!!

place is fine everything was great only negative is we payed pet and cleaning fees and he asked for extra money after our stay complaining of cleaning up dog hair from the photos i assumed the yard was fenced in and that we would be able to keep the dogs outside the whole time but it wasn’t and we had to keep them inside which is why there was some dog hair. all in all a fine place just a small misunderstanding which was redoubled amicably.

Great place to stay!

We had a wonderful time on a quick weekend getaway. The house is so spacious and comfortable. It is also located close to everything we wanted to do, and it was the perfect place for our fur babies. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Great location for Gulf Shores access!

Place was great and nicely decorated. Host was very friendly and responsive to our needs. The location is wonderful with quick access to all the Gulf Shores amenities. Nice park, breakfast diner, and coffee shop within walking distance as well. Would definitely stay again!

We came down for a strongman competition and beach time. Rental was close to the beaches and the hangout where the event was held. Owner was easy to communicate with. The house was comfortable and spacious for our group.

Great central location and spacious home for small families.

Great central location, but you do need a car to get to the beach. Also, when parking close to the beach you will need to pay for parking. There was a Rouses (grocery store) nearby and several little restaurants. My husband and I brought our two dogs, which was convenient and nice. The backyard was relatively small and bumps right up to the owner's tiny house on the property, but we mostly used the front porch and chairs when we were at the house. The only complaint I have is with the app. Communication was not easy and I would have to regularly signout and sign back in in orser to see any messages from the host. Not really a fault of the host, but more so of the app. I did suggest texting, but never received a response to the suggestions. Everything worked out in the long run, so it wasn't ever necessary. But there were a few things that I could not find and did not want to waste my time messing with the app. I would absolutely recommend this location to my friends and family, and would come back in the future. The neighborhood is walkable and quiet.

Nice vacation spot

House was perfect for the 6 of us. The teenage girls had their own room and so did the boys. It was within 10 minute drive to the beach and strip. We were able to grill out one night on the grill provided. They was a washer and dryer and the trash was close. The owner is close, but we barky saw him. Thank you for a great stay!

Family vacation for destination wedding

This was a good property to stay for a smallish group. Easy access to property and close to business district. Yard needs some TLC. Wasn’t a fan of having property owner right off the driveway next door. Didn’t know this when we booked. Didn’t create a problem but would recommend a privacy fence to break the two apart so you don’t feel under watch constantly. Otherwise it was nice.

A short getaway by Gulf State Park

We had a wonderful stay in Gulf Shores at Will’s peaceful home. It was clean, welcoming, well decorated, easy in & out, we felt safe, and well rested in this sweet home near the trails of Gulf State Park. We appreciated being able to bring our dog along and enjoyed walking the neighborhood. Thank you to Will & family for opening your home. We hope to come again sometime.

Rental was good, minor issues

Honestly I'd have rated this place higher if we didn't have some issues at arrival. Overall it is a pretty and comfortable home, with beaches and stores/restaurants nearby. We were notified about the washing machine being broken (by previous renters) before arriving. The host said he would cover the cost for the laundromat, which didn't happen but that wasn't a big deal to us. When we first arrived though, the key was not available in the lockbox per instructions. And the host was not reachable for hours (found out he was on a flight) so we had to reach out to VRBO support team. Then we were eventually advised by VRBO to book a hotel for the night. Well nearly all hotels were booked because of an archery event, and one night stay at Holiday Inn was nearly double the cost of this rental. And it was about 11pm by the time we got settled in to the hotel, we were already exhausted having driven 9 hours from Texas to Alabama. Kids got sick and it made the start of our vacation very unpleasant. The host did process a refund for the first night though. And he checked in with us afterwards to make sure we were checked-in the next day. But as you can imagine my husband was quite upset about having to find and pay $200 extra for a motel in the middle of the night after driving the whole day. I'm sure this won't happen to you though...as it sounded like the host just had a bad case of irresponsible renters prior to us, which had a spiraling domino effect.
