Incredible experience. The hotel is absolutely perfect and you can tell they put a lot of thought into the guest experience. The hotel bar is top tier and has a super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a great play unwind!

Hotel Vela is a cute and quaint boutique hotel. We enjoyed our room and found it quite comfortable. I did not like having to check in on a computer and not knowing which room was our room. We had to take the keycard and walk down the hall and try each door until we found our room. Another downfall is the upcharge on amenities. They wanted to charge for parking. There were two bottles of water in the room, but they were $5.00 a piece. Overall, good experience, but I would not try and nickel and dime your customer. Give the customer the 50 cent bottle of water as part of your experience.

Staff at check-in was amazing. The overnight staff was incredibly unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome. When we returned to the hotel for the evening, it was dark inside (no lights on). The night clerk walked outside and rudely asked us if we were staying for the night. When I confirmed that we were guest and checked in earlier, she interrupted me to say that we could not park on the street and that we needed to park in the lot. I informed her that staff/management told is that it was acceptable to park on the street for our stay. She briskly walked back in, turned on the lights, and began to do some work on the computer. Upon entering the lobby, there was still no greeting.

Megan was super sweet & personable, as was Dre at the superb restaurant. Great decor. Room was a bit cold, but other than that 10/10 We’ll definitely be back, in hopes to make it to Ship Island this time.

Nice, but gotcha! 🤔

First time staying here. Very clean, quiet & comfy. At check in we were asked if we needed parking. Yes we do. Ok, it is an additional fee. Note: posted signs in front hotel states 2 hour parking only! We were forced to pay for parking directly on side the hotel which could have EASILY been complimentary, because nothing else was.
