Eco Tax Contribution
As from June 2016, the Government of Malta has introduced an Environmental Contribution (tax). Revenue generated from this activity is used to upgrade and embellish the local infrastructure in touristic areas around the Maltese islands. All guests over 18 are required to pay an eco-tax of €0.50 per night up to a maximum of €5 in total.
