I would give it zero star if I could. Found a rat in the dining hall. Rude dining hall staff and front desk staff. Unbearable smell in the dorm.

I think this is a really great alternative to a hotel! I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming by for a shortish stay, and the staff is very polite and kind. Only thing to write home about was the shared bathrooms. Though they were clean, the motion sensor lights and the half open doors are terrifying at night lol. Other than that, great alternative!

Really solid cheap stay in a prime location for enjoying downtown halifax. Access to dalplex is also a really nice accomadation. Only downside really is that the higher floors get hot in the summer and the fan is pretty small

There was a subtle but frustrating chirp every ~30 seconds coming from the hallway, maybe a smoke alarm with low battery. I reported it after a sleepless first night but it remained unresolved on my second night. This made it hard to sleep.

Shower only had cold water and when you closed the door there was a 1cm gap all the way down which was uncomfortable since it is all gender bathroom. The door for my bedroom locks automatically which would have been nice to know in advance. The price is good, area good too

I may be getting to old for this

The university is great, easy check in, nice staff, safe, super clean, awesome showers. There is a clean communal kitchen down the hall to cook and store food and there is a nice tv room which I made use of both. My only complaint is the beds, you need to be ok with sleeping on a hard glorified cot. These mattresses are hard, my bed had noisy springs and it was zero comfort. Having said that, my 25 year old son, had zero issues and had two great nights sleep. So it is very likely I have become “sensitive” in my years but I can’t do the dorm beds thing again. However in terms of all the other stuff, I’d give it 10/10 for safe, clean, economical, centrally located (with free parking) accommodation.
