This older hotel was very pleasant but certainly not fancy. Breakfast was nice. Our room overlooked the lake but also the parking lot (they all do). You have to park at the far end of the town and take a shuttle. Hallstatt is very crowded of course. Look into staying just outside the village in the direction of Obertraun. Looked like some nice much quieter options there.

The view of the lake was magnificent. The views and heritage homes were wonderful. The amount of day tourists were alarming, and the fact the way they behaved. As for the room itself, it was great. My only two issues were that the shower could not be properly adjusted and would always spray out onto the floor. And it was very hot without air conditioning. A fan was provided which helped a little.

Great location in the centre and near the boat ferry that travels to and from the train station. My room was large and comfortable. Very quiet. The staff was amazing and were very helpful to me on several occasions.

We loved our room overlooking Lake Hallstatt. It was so convenient to the ferry( like outside their door). The breakfasts were delicious and so many choices. It was quiet.

The hotel is just a few steps from the ferry, which made it really convenient and easy to find. The location is excellent—close to everything, and very easy to get around. The room itself was quite good—clean and comfortable. However, for the price, it is on the expensive side compared to other nearby options. Check-in was okay, but I didn’t feel especially welcomed by the front desk staff. They weren’t particularly friendly, but perhaps that’s just their natural style. It wasn’t a bad experience—just not what I’d expect from a hotel at this price point. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if location is your top priority.

This property was the perfect place to stay in beautiful Rothenburg ob de Taube! It's rustic and history rich decor felt warm and inviting the moment we stepped in. Our room was beautifully decorated and the terrace had a stunning view of the surrounding area. We even had a stork nest on the rooftop nextdoor! The room was clean, very comfortable, spacious, bed was cozy and bathroom big. The breakfast was also very delicious. We can't wait to come back!!

The only reason we selected this hotel is for the location. However, we were sent to another location which is about 8 minutes walking uphill. It is just an apartment without any hotel facilities. It’s a truly an upsetting and unpleasant experience!

Excellent - great location, view and service.

It’s another wonderful stay - location is perfect it’s right next to the ferry and i was given the same room as I stayed more than three months ago. The room is clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. I’m looking forward to returning. Restaurants downstairs are super good.

Our night at the Heritage Hotel Hallstatt was one of the most memorable parts of our honeymoon. From the moment we stepped off the ferry and saw the hotel nestled right along the lake, we knew we were in for something special. The room was absolutely stunning—modern, cozy, and spacious, with jaw-dropping views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Waking up in Hallstatt, opening the windows, and seeing that mirror-like water with alpine peaks behind it? Unreal. The hotel perfectly blends traditional Austrian charm with modern comfort, and the location is unbeatable—right in the heart of town, but peaceful and quiet. It’s also just a short walk to the ferry and everything Hallstatt has to offer. Service was warm and professional, and everything felt smooth and easy from check-in to checkout. We only stayed one night, but it was the kind of place we didn’t want to leave. If you’re going to Hallstatt, this is the place to stay. Magical, romantic, and worth every second.
