A few minutes walk will bring you to 200 feet of private beach along Lake Michigan where you will delight in opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and leisurely beach walks surrounded by endless miles of picturesque dunes and woods.

Life here feels sweeter and simpler. Wake up to the peaceful sounds of the woods and unwind with a sunset, stargazing, and a crackling beach fire. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening meal on the three seasons porch with its lovely nature view. When you’re ready for the beach, you will find a range of amenities including beach chairs & a umbrella, 2 stand-up paddle boards, a cooler for picnics, and 6 kiddie life vests.

Harbert is a uniquely wooded area located a few minutes drive to numerous nearby restaurants, bakeries, local fresh farm stands, antique shops, wineries, breweries, summer theater, and – just 10 miles away on each side – the charming towns of Three Oaks and New Buffalo. Enjoy cycling? We are surrounded by miles of country roads with cycling routes, including the famed Apple Cider Century.

Our all-weather getaway has central AC & heat. For rainy days, the house includes numerous board games, as well as a TV, DVD player, Roku streaming, and high-speed WiFi. The fully-equipped kitchen (except for a dishwasher) includes 2 coffee makers (a drip-brew and a Keurig-style), a microwave, and all the essentials for family meals and baking. For outdoor meals, a Weber gas grill and picnic table are on the patio. The 4 bedrooms offer a range of family sleeping options, including 2 queen beds, 3 twin beds, and 2 bunk beds for kids. Fresh bedding, bath towels, and beach towels will be provided for your stay. (No washer or dryer is on the premises.)

Things to know:
The 4 neighboring homes on Evergreen Lane are a neighborly community committed to the peaceful enjoyment of the woods and beach. Therefore, we do not permit the use of music speakers outside the cottage or on the beach nor jet skis, or other motorized watercraft. All non-motorized watercraft are welcome! This cottage is ideal for families & friends gathering for quiet time away in nature. It would not be the appropriate setting for those looking for a party rental.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.

Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
