Was more run down than I recalled from when we were there last summer. Breakfast was okay, no drink options other than coffee as the machine was broke. Staff were wonderful and the hotel was clean, despite carpet stains and obvious wear in the rooms.

Clean but pool not available

Overall the hotel was clean and smelled clean. It had some smell of the pool which we love and the hallways and room had a newer smell. Not musty like a few places we've stayed. We picked that hotel for a couple reasons...free parking was nice but mostly proximity to HerseyPark and an indoor pool. Very disappointed that as we went to get in pool dressed in suits and all they "closed for cleaning" Doesnt seem very thoughtful to do that at a prime time for people to swim and should get done midweek or better times. Not a Saturday at noon.

This hotel was unacceptable and I'm not sure why Expedia has it rated the way it does. It is very misleading to have the rating of 8.0. When walking in the door, you immediately can smell the chlorine from the pool. While my room was on the second floor, the musty smell and humidity were present in the room. The carpet was dirty and the sheets were damp from the humidity. If that wasn't bad enough, the bathroom has visible mold in the tub and the wall near the tub was also moldy and damaged. Clearly the hotel was aware and removed part of the wall but did not fix the wall or remove the mold entirely. After attending a concert at Hershey Park Stadium, it was late and I live 2.5 hours away - the room was so gross that I checked out at midnight to make the drive because it was not healthy to stay there overnight. Not only was the experience unpleasant, Expedia and the La Quinta staff refused to refund me the money I spent on a stay I didn't use. I even had pictures of the mold in the bathroom. Expedia's agent I first spoke with assured me that I would be refunded no problem especially with the health concerns. Then I get an email days later that they tried to contact the property manager but the property manager refused to refund. Expedia's only response was to offer me $25 OneKey Cash for a future stay ... $25 on a booking that cost me $150 for a moldy, dirty room of a hotel that gets an 8.0 rating on their website. Lack of accountability from either party is ridiculous.

The elevator stopped on the last day of our stay that is a shame when you got so much luggage to bring downstairs. The room had a cigarette smoke to it but yet they held my 250 dollars for the duration of being there for a room had a smoke smell to it already.
