Nice villa Valentine

So much thank's to Poppy who perfectly manages her lovely villa Valentine. Poppy is very attentive and very effective and she received us with delicate attention. The villa is perfect for a couple, very well build, nice pool and lovely garden and perfectly located to visit the North side of the isle, from Vai to Rethymon, at 20 km from Heraklion. One comment about the one of Stephen on this site: we didn't suffer from the noise of the planes as there are only few arriving in the morning and some in the evening; not so much trouble; and the neighbor does not have any dog anymore. We had neighbors (on the other side) making noise one night and Poppy has managed so that they stop.

Kleines Haus mit perfektem Außenbereich

Das kleine Haus liegt etwas abseits und dadurch sehr ruhig. In wenigen Minuten mit dem Auto erreicht man Hersonissos und diverse Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die KĂŒche bietet alles, was fĂŒr ein paar Tage gebraucht wird. Der Pool ist sehr sauber und tiefer als es auf den Fotos scheint. Die Terrasse ist wunderschön und man kann hier sehr entspannte Stunden genießen. Die Vermieterin Poppy ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Einfach traumhaft

Die Unterkunft war einfach traumhaft und Poppy hat einfach alles getoppt. Wir haben in unserem Flitterwochen eine Torte bekommen. Und wir sind spĂ€t angereist und habe einen tollen Obstkorb und diverse Kleinigkeiten bekommen, sodass wir erstmal unsere Zeit genossen haben. Vielen Dank fĂŒr die Herzlichkeit und liebevolle Einrichtung.

Traumurlaub in der Villa Valentine

Unser Urlaub in der Villa Valentine war einfach wundervoll. Im sauberen und praktischen Haus, ist alles vorhanden was man zum Entspannen oder zum Kochen braucht. Das Bett ist bequem, eine Klimaanlage ist ebenfalls vorhanden und fĂŒr diejenigen die es brauchen, sogar ein Fernsehr. Die Garten ist wunderschön mit zig HibiskusbĂ€umen, weichen Gras, genĂŒgend Sonnen- und SchattenplĂ€tze zum Entspannen am schönen Pool. Die ĂŒberdachte Terrasse eignet sich zum ausgiebigen FrĂŒhstĂŒck oder zum Schlemmen am Abend vom eigenen Steingrill oder dem Steinofen. Die Vermieterin Poppy war ĂŒberaus Gastfreundlich, immer hilfsbereich, ob zu Fragen zum Objekt oder Tipps zur Gastronomie / AusflĂŒgen oder sogar unseren kurzen Bedarf an medizinischer Versorgung. Poppy war ausnahmslos herzlich fĂŒr ihre GĂ€ste da. Zudem spricht sie fließend Deutsch, Englisch, NiederlĂ€ndisch und Griechisch. Wer sich nach einen erholsamen Urlaub sehnt, der hat hier das richtige Objekt gefunden. Dennoch ist der Strand, die Touristenmile von Chersonissos oder die Altstadt von Old Hersonissos nur ein paar Minuten entfernt. Der Flughafen ist ca. 25 Minuten entfernt.

Vakantie paradijs, lekker relaxen !!

Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk verwelkomd en was de villa nog mooier dan onze verwachting. Alles was netjes verzorgd en aanwezig. We hebben heerlijk genoten van het zwembad en de rust en omgeving en privacy die we daar hadden. Tevens zeer genoten van de mooie zonsondergang ! De locatie is uitstekend, van hieruit zit je centraal om de omgeving te verkennen, we hebben heerlijk gegeten in de traditionele taverna's in Chersonissos en Koutouloufari . We hebben ook nog zelf gebarbecued in de tuin ,kortom, we hebben ontzettend genoten en komen zeker terug volgend jaar !

Disappointing - noisy dogs, awful bed, not a nice area

It's not fun writing a bad review, especially when the owner is nice like Poppy, but hopefully this can help others avoid making the mistake we did when we booked our honeymoon here. We were really excited about staying at Villa Valentine based on the pictures and reviews on HomeAway. We were anticipating a lovely peaceful, relaxing and luxurious stay in the Cretan countryside. Unfortunately, what you can't tell from pictures is that the villa is noisy, uncomfortable and in unpleasant surroundings. The biggest problem was the noise, and especially the barking of the dogs the next-door neighbours keep chained up in their yard. It was loud, menacing and persistent, and was particularly a problem in the evenings and early mornings. The neighbours on the other side have a contraption in their yard that whirrs loudly throughout the day, and planes fly overhead throughout the day and night, which added to the problem. The other really big problem was the bed - the mattress was probably the worst either my wife or I have ever laid on, with springs painfully digging into you. To get a good night's sleep, we brought the covers from the sunloungers inside and slept on them. The shower is also an issue: small and cramped, it rarely had enough hot water for two showers and sometimes had none at all. The final issue we had was the location. The immediate vicinity is more wasteland than countryside and the region of Crete just isn't very nice. Agios Nikolaos was pleasant but that's a 45-minute drive away. Because we weren't enjoying ourselves as much as we'd hoped, we travelled to Chania on the West of Crete to stay there for a couple of days and that was lovely, and we'd strongly recommend holidaying there. There were some positives to the villa. The garden and pool really are as pretty and well-maintained as they look in the photos and are very private - in the moments during the day when there is no noise, it's a nice place to be. The kitchen is adequately equipped, and Poppy had provided some groceries on our arrival, which was a nice touch. Overall, though, we regret staying at Villa Valentine and wish we'd stayed somewhere in or near Chania instead.

met with poopy who was very friendly and helpful went to Villa which is small but lovely with a wonderful outside area and pool where you will spend all your time,had a lovely relaxing break,shops and buzz are minites away if required but we didn't bother,would highly recommended this villa.
