Charming Cottage in the Foothills with Additional Parking

The 905 Cottage is a cozy 800 Square Foot space that was redesigned in the Spring of 2021 specifically for the best experiences in mind, while making the best use of the available space. Should you be traveling in tow, this is the place for you!

It is a quaint and relaxing two bedroom, one bath cottage in Morganton. Close to a small park, downtown, shopping, Mimosa Hills Golf (2.8 miles), I-40, Hickory (30 min), and Asheville (55 min).
Near hiking trails, river kayaking, wineries, snow tubing, Fonta Flora, Table Rock, Linville Falls, Linville Gorge, Lake James, Wilson Creek, the OHV, Blue Ridge Parkway, Brown Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, and many more attractions.

It features a covered front porch with deck and seating for two to enjoy your morning coffee, which is provided. Recently (April 2022) new composite floors on the back decks, outside patio furniture, and an outdoor fire pit surrounded by 4 Adirondack chairs perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine to star gaze. 2023 we fenced in behind the deck to add privacy.

The home is completely renovated and updated, with some original home features retained. Original front door (when it was a business space) and original hardwood floors (refinished).

Although we may not be ADA compliant, our accommodations are not only perfect for the elderly, but also suitable for individuals who are unable to climb steps. There are no steps leading to or within the house, making it easily accessible for everyone.

The fully functioning kitchen has concrete countertops, a four burner stove, full size microwave, refrigerator/top freezer, compact dishwasher and fully stocked with everything you would need such as dual Keurig coffee maker, hand mixer, mini crockpot, toaster, dishwasher, pots, pans, glasses, dishes, utensils and more, just bring your food!

A new tankless water heater was installed to secure you would never run out of hot water. Need to wash your clothes before returning home, no problem. There is a new full size front load washer and dryer for your convenience providing liquid soap and dryer sheets for you.

Toiletry and paper products starter pack provided. Bedding and towels for the house are also provided. Beds include one queen bed in bedroom 1 (2023 mattress) and one double/full bed in bedroom 2, both of which have ceiling fans for added cooling.

There is ample parking no matter what you are towing. With host approval, we can accommodate with additional parking in the gravel lot beside the cottage.

We are meticulous with deep cleaning after each guest, and value our own travel experiences to ensure we deliver a clean stay for you to enjoy. Should you want a mid-stay cleaning, that option is available with inquiry.

Everything you need and want!

We were in town for a golf tournament and this wonderful cottage was perfect. Convenient to the golf course, restaurants, and the grocery store made it a perfect fit. Because the house was properly furnished, we were able to cook steaks and have friends over to visit. This is perfect for a quick getaway or extended visit. Hope to be able to come back soon!!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. It’s hard to imagine that this little house could be cared for any more perfectly. It was super clean from top to bottom. Totally well-stocked with everything we needed. All kitchenware, games, and local information were appreciated. All appliances were in great working order. The furniture, including beds, was attractive and comfortable. Yes, the house is small but plenty of room for the 3 of us. The backyard (fenced in with privacy fence) is very nice with the grill, deck furniture, and fire pit. The house is situated on a well-traveled road and near noise, but there was no issue for us at night. The owner was very accommodating and entry and departure was smooth and easy.

Quaint Lodging in the Appalachian Foothills

A clean, affordable place to stay with great access to nature, trails, fishing and winding roads. Morganton is a hidden gem. The cottage is well equipped with a huge deck, grill, and is recently updated with everything you would need. Near Lake James and Blue Ridge mountains. Roughly 50 miles to Asheville.

We loved the large deck and fire pit with lots of seating. Rebecca was kind enough to bring us matches and a lighter at 9:30 at night so we could make s'mores! House was very clean, kitchen well stocked.

Generous and detail oriented property owners

David and Rebecca have gone above and beyond with their generosity and detailed attention to anything that may be needed during ones stay. Items such as snacks, spices, and individual serve condiment packets are kind and handy provisions. The whole house is neatly arranged and pleasing to the eyes. Short vacation

Overall the home was charming and well stocked. Every small detail was covered including lotion and toothbrushes if needed. The 2 complaints i have are that the beds were very worn and uncomfortable to sleep in. Also the home is very close to the road, lots of vehicles traveling the road until late hours of the night. Lots of road noise making sleep difficult. One problem can be fixed. The road noise can not.

The hosts were super nice and responsive. We had a little issue with plumbing but they were there as soon as we reported it to get it fixed. The house was clean and there were some snacks and water when we arrived. I would definitely recommend this property. The only issue was the house is close to highway so we did hear noisy vehicles passing by.

What a sweet home!! The owners left us a wedding gift and a little welcome sign and it was just so kind. The home is clean and stocked with all kinds of helpful things. It was comfortable and perfect for what we needed.
