Comfortable, Convenient and Freshly Renovated!!
Freshly renovated (April 2019) adorable, two bedroom/two bath cottage located in private development just off of Buck Creek Road. Cottage is located on High Cotton Lane which is off of Buck Creek Road just past Chestnut Hill Retirement Village and soccer fields. Remodeled and updated recently, this cute little gem is the perfect place for a quiet weekend get a way. With warm, maple cabinetry and all new appliances you would be very comfortable in our little mountain retreat. Our stone fireplace is very cozy on cool morning and evenings. New blinds in both bedrooms and a privacy fence around our hot tub. Our cottage is located just 2.8 miles from main street Highlands and a short 15 minute drive to Cashiers. Our brand new hot tub seats 4 adults and is maintained by a local spa company.
The stay was amazing thank you. We followed instructions for check out. There are no bins outside to take trash to, so we left inside, hope that was okay. Also we were planning to use hot tub, but water was not warm and it was giving an error message. We used breaker to reset and then in 45minutes to an hour we'd get the error message again.
House was clean comfortable and cheerful. Kitchen basics provided for preparing meals but need updated cookware - old teflon. Gas fire was great ambience and warmth. Hot tub kept tripping circuit, area around it was treacherous with old tarp on ground - difficultly access removing and replacing cover. Very close to neighbors so children were a noise issue. Small enclave of 5 houses on a very steep incline. Very secluded otherwise. Parking limited if you have more than one vehicle. We enjoyed our stay - would go back off season.
We celebrated our 51st anniversary here. Have been doing this for almost 30 years. This is our first stay here. The place is very convenient, quiet, and peaceful. It is very cozy, and the hot tub great after a day of hiking and "running around". Would absolutely stay here again.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Highlands for the weekend! There were many shops and restaurants to visit. We also loved exploring the nearby waterfalls and hikes! Our Host was great and made everything easily accessible for us. Our stay was just as expected!
One word: DISAPPOINTING!! This was a business trip so after working 10 hr days you want to go to your home and climb into bed--but the sheets were "clammy"--EVERY NIGHT! The AC was on and STILL it was not comfortable. Because of this the towels NEVER DRIED OUT, so you had damp towels to dry off with. Try taking a shower where the shower head is aimed toward the wall and could not be adjusted downward! The floor grates were rusty and not pleasing to look at. The interior of the lampshades were torn and generally the overall atmosphere was depressing.
