WHY DO I LOVE THE CHALET?:
I adore the aesthetics of the chalet! There is no other property that has its chic Alpine style in Highlands, NC. I created a sophisticated, understated, and quite elegant vibe to create the coziest chalet. Plus, I love being so close to all my favorite restaurants and shopping downtown Highlands!

CHALET LAYOUT:
A) As you enter the first level, you are greeted by the charming kitchen, dining area, and separate washer/dryer room.
B) Ascend the stairs to discover the crown jewels of the chalet, the grande vaulted ceiling on the second level. Upstairs you will discover the inviting living room with an outdoor upper deck and enormous Samsung smart TV, the fairy-tale king master bedroom that has a lot of soft natural light filtering in from the sea of rhododendrons with Samsung smart TV, and a full hallway bathroom with combination tub/shower.
C) The loft area hosts the 1/2 bath, a hallway nook twin bed, and a cozy queen bedroom with windows that flood the room with lovely natural light.

FIVE-STAR REVIEWS:
"I absolutely fell in love with this chalet! Everything was beautiful, from the decorating to the details of the home itself. There was nothing I would change - Missy was such a gracious host and the place was impeccably clean and fresh. The bedding was luxurious, the towels were new, and the appliances looked brand new and state-of-the-art. The kitchen was fully furnished. Five stars all around! I can’t wait to return as it’s already one of my new favorite places!" ~ Jennifer, October 2022

"Missy was the perfect host and we’re so thankful her lovely home is available for us all to enjoy! The Art Chalet has centrally located a short walk from Main Street and just across from Highlands Smokehouse. The home itself is beautifully appointed with everything one would need to feel right at home. We started most mornings and ended several evenings on the upstairs balcony. The accommodations and amenities rival that of any five-star hotel - comfortable and super lux. The upstairs beverage station was very much appreciated. Above all else, Missy has been the most attentive host. We highly recommend the Art Chalet and look forward to visiting Missy’s other properties." ~ Andrea, August 2022

"This beautiful chalet is tucked right in the heart of everything there is to love about the Highlands. Every detail of this home has been prepared to offer guests five-star stays. The kitchen is well stocked for meals (if you choose not to take advantage of the delicious restaurants are that mere minutes away.) The beds are next-level comfortable with high-end linens, cozy mattresses, and dream-worthy pillows! Missy leaves no amenities left off her checklist. The ART!!!!! Wow, wow, wow. Beautifully curated pieces of fine art to indulge your senses at every turn. Such a fun immersive experience. We even had to take a couple of pieces home! We truly can not rave enough about this stay. From booking (and adding nights) to check out, Missy was always available, helpful, and just a wonderful host. If you are looking for a memorable stay in the Highlands, with all the comforts of a luxury stay, Art Chalet is your next stop!" ~ Brian, July 2022

"My husband and I simply adored the Art Chalet and cannot wait to return! In fact, we booked our next stay while we were there and are excited to send our friends to experience this sweet little home in the beautiful Highlands, too. The location is prime - a minute from town but far enough to enjoy peace and solitude. It’s perfectly clean, easy to access, and absolutely lovely. We did not anticipate buying art while we were there but couldn’t resist two of our favorite pieces. Thanks to the host for such a wonderful stay. Perfect from beginning to end!" ~ April, July 2022

"This adorable chalet couldn’t be more perfect. Missy, the owner, has thought of everything you desire and need during your stay. The beds are super comfortable and plush. The house is very clean and provides the most relaxing vibe. It is decorated beautifully. It is so close to town, seriously can not beat the location." ~ Bethany, June 2022

THE AREA:
Highlands is the premier mountain destination in the Southeast. Lined with shopping, dining, museums, and galleries, the bustling mountain village centering around Main Street is straight from a Norman Rockwell painting. At 4,118 feet, it’s one of the few temperate rainforests in North America, bringing botanists and nature lovers from all over the world. Highlands is also a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. With an abundance of opportunities for biking, hiking, horseback riding, tubing, canoeing, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting, adventure-seekers will not find a more beautiful backdrop.

Perfect Little Chalet
What a lovely Chalet! This was a perfect spot for a little get away for the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and all of the outside lounging areas. There were only two of us, so as far as the beds go I can only comment on the mater bed. Slept great and was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed for grilling out on the gas grill. What a great place in a convenient location. Would highly recommend! Thanks Missy for sharing your quaint little Chalet! I will definitely book again in the future!

My husband & I went for a quick trip to Highlands. This VRBO is in a great location, very easy drive to town, would not suggest walking though. LOVED the artwork and interior design & special touches. I felt like I was in a treehouse, so fun!!

So cute!
Loved our stay at this cute little property! Just a couple minutes to town and to a few short, easy trails. Just a heads up, this house is RIGHT on a pretty busy road so it can be a little loud and wouldn’t be great with quick moving toddlers, and the parking is a small space. But still excellent for an adorable little cottage in the mountains!

Minutes From Downtown Highlands
Very cozy inside and stays warm with the fireplace on level 3 and level 3. Comfy bed and loved the record player and vinyl record collection. Only a 3 minute drive to downtown Highlands which was the reason we booked it. Property Manager was easy to reach and replied instantly.

My sisters and I had a wonderful time. The cottage was adorable and had everything we needed. It was a slice of heaven in the trees. The art was so beautiful too. It was close to town but also enjoyed just relaxing around the house. Can’t wait to go back.

Great place!
This place was super cool and very comfortable. Many thoughtful touches to make for a seamless stay. Would highly recommend, especially if you like staying in a small art gallery. Close (but not quite) walkable to downtown (because no sidewalks), and easy access to local trails. Lovely place and easy communication with owner.
