We found this property to be great for its proximity to the beach and the main shopping and dining district of Hilton Head. The remodeled Sonesta (special room type) was fantastic. Roomy, spacious, stylish in furnishings and very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the pool area was a nice option to the beach. Our only complaints about the resort was that when we booked the room, considered to be on the high end of the room options, we had no idea that many of them on the southern side of building overlook the conference room building roof. The room previews gave no idea that this was a possibility much to our dismay as we always enjoy sitting out on the patio in the evening. Not possible with this type of view and we also had food smells coming up from the kitchen. Last, we stayed for 3 nights and house keeping never refreshed our coffee station. Luckily I bring extra K-cups of coffee and the machine was a Keurig coffee maker. They also didn't replace our towels when we put them down on the floor. They do however provide plenty for just two people. (And yes, we could have called housekeeping, but why should we need too and this was standard servicing.) Additional Tip: The Sonesta website actually offered a "Premier View" room option that Expedia did not. Just something to consider if that is important to you as it is for us.

We didn’t like all the fees. The bike rental was more than outside daily rate. The jacuzzi was not hot enough and the jets were low pressure. Our shower was also low pressure and the bathtub was slippery. All the staff were friendly and professional. The grounds were clean.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sonesta. We truly enjoyed our dinner at the patio restaurant. The food was delicious and our server was great. We loved sitting by the adult pool and at the fire pit. It was so nice to order frozen drinks right from our poolside lounge chair. We rented bikes and had a great time riding around the island. It was so nice to be able to walk right out to the beach. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and recommended some great restaurants and also gave us a room upgrade. We will definitely return when we’re in the area.

Best Choice for Hilton Head!

We arrived and were upgraded, immediately to an ocean view room. The entire resort was beautiful and well maintained. We have been going to HH for 25 years. We plan on making this our go-to hotel on Hilton Head. We were really thrilled with the property!

I wouldn't recommend this place at all our stay wasn't great at all I requested a room with wheelchair access and the riim we were giving could barely fit the extremely small wheelchair that they gave us to use my husband couldn't take a shower because it was to high for him to step in. We asked for a different wheelchair which we never got or did anyone try and help.

This is a beautiful resort compared to other hotels we've been at in the area, the beach is suitable for little ones with a shallow entry. We booked through Expedia and we did not get the room we booked, with a partial ocean view, they tried to give us a parking lot view room. After a little bit of back and forth, they gave us a pool view room. Our room had a bad, musty smell that we had to put up with for the duration of our stay. Their restaurants are expensive & the portions are not what they used to be. The staff was super nice & on top of things - both at their restaurants & the cleaning staff. The biggest disappointment was their pizza. It came on pre-baked flat bread...the menu says it is Pizza Margherita...it is not even close, such a waste of money, as we bought 3 12 inch pizzas at $16/each. Overall, we had a pretty nice stay mainly because the beach is nice there, the pools are ok & because most of the staff was welcoming & accommodating.
