Lakefront Family-Friendly "Islander" Home w/Dock! Breathtaking Open Water Views!

Located on one the most beautiful islands of Indian Lake, this property is a perfect vacation spot for those wanting to relax and enjoy an escape from the everyday. This lakefront home is perfectly situated on the northwest corner of Seminole Island, providing an excellent open water view of the lake. During the day, guests will be able to enjoy a fun and relaxing swimming and fishing experience as the home is located away from heavy boat traffic. In the evenings, spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed from the property's shoreline. After the sunset, possible activities include relaxing around the firepit, eating toasted marshmallows, and gazing at the stars!

Recently updated with complete bathroom and kitchen remodel (completed 2024), along with new exterior finish and interior flooring (completed 2024), this home includes a dramatic lake room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Indian Lake, as well as a complete kitchen. Sleeping accommodations consist of 3 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa, plus 1 1/2 baths. This home can accommodate 8 guests.

Indian Lake is located about 1 hour 30 minutes from Dayton, Ohio and 1 hour from Columbus, Ohio.

Love the cotton candy sunsets

This is our 4th time staying at this cottage and our 7th year staying at Indian Lake. We love this cottage because we are able to bring our goldendoodle with us. Large enough for our family of 5 plus the pup. We rent a pontoon from Spend a day Marina, fish, boat, tube and kayak on the lake. Love evenings at the dock with a fire and the cotton candy sunset views from the dock. Thank you to the Ferbus family for hosting us year after year.

A Great Spot on the Lake

My family and I were very happy with our accommodations at Virgil’s lake house. While the cottage seems small, the living space (kitchen, family room and 4 seasons room were open and spacious. In addition, with the 3 bedrooms and pull out couch we were able to sleep 8 comfortably when needed. The property was very well maintained and everything was clean and in good working order. We love being on Seminole Island and the lake view and sunsets were excellent. We had a great time and would love to come back again. The owners were very nice and accommodating too!

Loved the place

Wonderful experience at Virgil's Cabin. The cottage is right on the lake with its own boat dock and concrete sitting area. It was clean, convenient, and reasonably priced and located in a quiet and peaceful location on Seminole Island. Look forward to coming back here in the future.

A perfect getaway

Our stay at Virgil’s cottage was lovely. The cottage was very clean and as described. It has a perfect Grandpa’s family lake house feel. We were able to dock our boat at the open slip. When we arrived we met one of the owners,Kirk and some of the family at the family house next door. The view and sunsets were lovely. Very relaxing to sit on the patio and read while the kids played in the water. We brought our own paddle boards and the kids enjoyed the calm water around the cottage. We would definitely stay again.

Loving the Lake

Great location, clean, neat and comfortable. Had everything we needed and expected. Would have easily worked well for 2 couples, but would have to share shower. Walkable neighborhood and to Cranberry Resort, easy drives elsewhere. Not sure if swimming off the dock is ever great, but nice to have the option, and would work well for kayaks. Overall very happy and relaxing weekend.

Perfect Place

Virgil’s Cottage on Seminole Island was just the perfect place for our May Getaway. Right on the lake, gorgeous sunsets and a beautiful view. The Saugeye catch was an added bonus. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and all of the amenities. The hosts are very responsive and we met one of them in person right before checkout to chat a bit.

BEST Location

We had such a great time at this property. The location cannot be beat and having a dock right out the back door was a huge plus. The house gave us the cabin vibe we were looking for. Rooms are a little small but were more than adequate for the 7 of us. Kirk was amazing helping us find all the restaurants and navigating the lake. Great Owners! We appreciated having Mark & Kirk right next door. Wish we could have stayed longer than the weekend.

Home away from home

We just stayed at Virgil’s Cottage for our second week this summer, it has everything we need to feel like it’s our home away from home and it reminds us of the Jersey shore cottages of our youth. The view of the lake is fabulous all day, from sunrise to sunset. We live outdoors on vacation and this is the perfect place for us - always a bit of shade around the house throughout the day (and a dockside table+umbrella), easy water access for this water-loving family (kayak, paddle boards, noodles for floating), quiet and walkable neighborhood, lovely neighbors, and the perfect location for birdwatching and stargazing. We are already planning for summer 2023!

Time to Relax & Unwind

The house was easy to get to & had easy access to the lake. The sunsets were pretty & love all the flowers in pots. We used to own a condo not far from this home. It was great that we could rent it & be familiar with all the stores, restaurants, boat storage etc. Mark & Kirk were very accommodating. We are so grateful that our dogs could come too. Perfect Spot

We live in Powell, and my wife and I were looking for a close-to-home getaway while our youngest was away at camp. Love the house and the location! 8 minute walk to Cranberry's, which was awesome...ate almost all our meals there. Spend a Day Marina has reasonable weekly rentals and brand new boats, so having a nice dock at the house was a real plus so we could enjoy the water every day. Mark the property manager was terrific...all in all a great experience...we will be back. Thanks!
