Modern amenities provide all the comforts necessary for a relaxing stay or quiet remote work setting. Take in nature, a movie, or unwind in your own private hot tub gazing at the stars after hitting the slopes or trails. Nestled in the heart of Vacationland with endless excursions for your Northern Michigan getaway right at your door step awaiting your arrival!

Enjoy the peace and tranquility of Indian River at this cozy 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath cabin, offering stunning riverfront views and all the essentials for a Northern Michigan retreat. With air conditioning for the warm summer months, this cabin is just minutes from golf, biking, and hiking trails. Explore downtown Indian River, Topinabee, Cheboygan, or Mackinaw City—all just a short drive away. Come home to your private getaway for a family BBQ on the deck, or enjoy stargazing or Northern Lights from the fire pit or hot tub!

KITCHEN: Well-equipped with dining seating for 4 plus an additional dining set for 4. Includes newer appliances, cookware, bakeware, utensils, spices, dishware, flatware, and kitchen towels/washcloths.

BEDROOMS: Master bedroom has a king-size bed; second bedroom features a queen bed plus a bunk bed with single beds on top and bottom. All linens, pillows, and blankets supplied.

BATHROOMS: One full bath with shower only and one half bath with toilet and sink. Towels and washcloths included.

ENTERTAINMENT: High-speed Wi-Fi throughout. Living room and master bedroom each feature Smart Samsung TVs with 200+ live channels and thousands of on-demand movies and shows.

RIVERFRONT & OUTDOOR LIVING: Fenced yard (open at riverfront) with 125 feet of private frontage on the famous Indian River at the mouth of Mullett Lake. Enjoy 2 kayaks, an Aqua-Cycle paddleboat, and a canoe for your use. Deck facing the river with private hot tub (usable year-round), patio dining for 6-7, and a propane BBQ with two tanks. Wood-burning fire pit with plenty of chairs. Dock available year-round, accommodating boats up to 30’. Fish for perch, walleye, or bluegill, or paddle along the scenic waterway. Wake to swans, ducks, and resident bald eagles—this is truly a bird lover’s paradise!

STARGAZING & NIGHT SKY: Shooting stars, satellites, occasional UFO sightings, and SpaceX launches are all visible from the cabin on clear nights—perfect for star and UFO enthusiasts.

WINTER ACTIVITIES: Nearby Snowmobile DNR Trail #7 and ski hills for winter sports enthusiasts. Cross-country ski trails nearby with gently sloping, forested terrain. Ample trailer parking available; 4WD/AWD recommended in winter.

Enjoyed a quick trip/stay at this cute little cabin. We were able to fish from the dock (and other local spots), relax in the hot tub, and enjoy the spectacular view of nature. Dorene & John had everything you would need there and more. We ate at the Wigwam (right down the road) which had excellent pizza. 10/10 recommend.

Pictures Undervalue the Experience

Pictures were actually worse than the property looked in real life. Wonderful cabin stocked full of all the amenities and thoughtful adds. A shed full of accessories for boating. Several kayaks and a water cycle were included. Complete peace and quiet on the river every night. Relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was unforgettable. The ONLY complaint is how hard the water is, how it smells like sulfur. A home filtration system would be an amazing addition and pay dividends in satisfaction.

Beautiful Setting

We had a great stay at The River’s Edge. Cabin was exactly as pictured and had everything needed to make our vacation awesome. Location was great, close to Mackinac City, Petoskey and Cheboygan. Enjoyed Indian River also as well as Burt Lake Brewery. We would stay there again!

Peaceful week

The house was great! Perfect size for us and we loved being able to see the boats pass by on the river from the couch. We appreciated the nice set of dishes...especially the perfect coffee cups! Our dog really enjoyed the fenced in yard and the ability to run in to cool off whenever he wanted. Such a relaxing week! Dorene and John were an incredible pleasure to work with. Very accommodating and helpful, I wish all property managers had this approach.

Winter Wonderland

The house was very clean and the check in process was easy. The owners of the house even reached out to us that we could check in early because of a winter storm getting ready to hit the area so we were able to get on the road earlier in the day. That right there should tell you alot about who you are renting the house from. I give the house 5 stars and will be returning in the near future! O and the view from the deck is amazing looking over the Indian River where we saw numerous bald eagles cruising the river looking for a meal. Great place overall.

Beautiful cabin and property and property very nice and secluded. Owners are very nice and pleseant to talk to! Nice private dock and paddle boat was nice to use. Would definitely recommend to anyone! Even had car issues and hoast was very understanding about the issue which was very nice. Would stay again.

Cute place, clean, very well-equipped and comfortable. Very nice view/access to the river - we enjoyed some really beautiful sunsets from the hot tub! Loved the pet-friendly option as well - our vacations are so much more relaxing when we aren't worried about leaving our girl behind. :-)

Wonderful getaway

Beautiful river view, close to everything yet private and quiet. Swans floating by all day and a pair of bald eagles fishing right in front of the cabin! Large bedroom, comfortable bed and very nice cabin decor. Very well stocked kitchen and baths. Jacuzzi was great after a day of skiing. Perfect for the two of us and our doggo.
