Absolutely excellent breakfast. Clean rooms. View from balconies from floor 3 and up is gorgeous. No luxury, but there is everything you need for comfy stay

You may not stay at the address you booked. We were travelling with another couple, booked at the same time, then placed at separate addresses. The breakfast site was beautiful on the roof. The location was close to Galata Tower.

Check-in was terrible. When we arrived, they said there was “a problem with our room” and we were instructed to go to another property, and then another property. We booked with our friends and they did nothing to try to accommodate us. The room was OK. The breakfast location was great, but it was not on the property we were staying at.

The hotel is perfectly located close to Galata Tower. The staff are friendly, and the view at breakfast was amazing. Our bedroom was large with a balcony. The hotel is in need of maintenence but is exceptional value for money. We would stay again.

Review is more about Meroddi in general. On arrival at La Porta, after midnight, we were told we weren't staying there but had been moved to another Meroddi property close by. The upgrade to a 2 bedroom was appreciated. Streets are cobblestone and taxis aren't always able to take you to the door. Our property had no lift, so be prepared to lug luggage up narrow often spiral stair cases. Breakfast was great (although in another location). Location is walking distance to Galata Tower, trams, food and shopping.

A perfect location to explore the city. Very close to Galata Tower and yet on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. The apartment was a perfect size for a 2 night stay and close to the metro.

It was run very nicely and clean and helpful staff! It was not like the picture of hotel outside on Expedia very narrow and dirty street! We couldn’t get in the entrance of the hotel because of vans parked outside ! 5mins from station and next road were all bars and coffee shops! Could walk to Taxim sq

Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel is around the block from the Tower, which is nice and quiet. The tower area is vibrant and fun to be at night. A lot of restaurants, cafes and shops. We felt safe in the area. To get to the hotel we had be dropped off at the tower and walk to the hotel. It’s down an ally, the ally was dark and not clean, so it felt sketchy. At the end we liked being off the main road.

Unhelpful staff . Note that the “annex” is far from the hotel, has no lift looks to a service alley full of trash and the staff would not let us change rooms to the other building to have the family together . Had to make a new reservation . Terrible

Ideal location for young people/couples to stay. The city was busy, the views around were good plus good restaurant options - walkable distance from tram to get to anywhere you’d want to go in Istanbul. The staff was super friendly, especially Sevgi from guest relations was super helpful and catering. Greeted me and my partner with amazing decor and postcards with complimentary refreshments. Highly recommended!

Hello, I like this property because was close to Galatta Tower, my favorite place in Istambul. I like the shopping and dinning. It is wonderful. The hotel inside is quiet and safe. Breakfast very good. Staff at the reception was the best, they do the best to make you comfortable. Maintenance staff was very nice and same staff at breakfast time. Awesome customer service

We had an awesome stay in this hotel. Thanks to Reha in the front desk who went above and beyond in customer service in our 3 night stay. On our last day, he helped me and my wife dragged our luggage to the end of the street because the taxi cannot enter the street at that time. Breakfast is delicious and the view from the restaurant at the 5th floor is beautiful.

Excellent stay at Meroddi La Porta

Superb stay at Meroddi La Porta. It is a great value given the wonderful service from the staff, who really looked after us (thank you Umil and Cagatay!), the incredible proximity to Galata Tower (literally around the corner), and the comfortable (small) rooms and wonderful and scenic breakfast. We wanted to stay very close to the tower and not spend too much and are very happy to had found this hotel and would recommend it highly. This neighborhood has a lot of cobblestones and hills and requires normal walking ability. The street itself is small and a bit alley-like, but the location around the corner from Galata square makes it a superb value.
