Neighborhood
Horoeka House is less than a 10 minute drive from Queenstown airport and into Frankton shopping area. There you will find large supermarkets, a full range of shops and many cafes. Queenstown is a 20 minute drive away. The Jacks Point golf course is only a short walk or minutes drive . There is over 35km of walking, hiking and cycling tracks right at the back door. It is less than 2 hours drive from Invercargill and is on the route from Queenstown to Milford Sound. And only few minutes drive to the base and entrance of the Remarkable’s ski field.
Originally farmland the Jacks Point Estate has been developed trying to keep the 3,000 acres in harmony with their original surroundings. From the planting of native fauna to the design of the houses this estate was 15 years in the planning.
Jacks Point is home to the acclaimed 18 hole Championship Golf Course, it has extensive mountain bike and walking trails, tennis courts, playground, sports fields and not to forget the Clubhouse and Restaurant which sit on the picturesque Lake Tewa which is also available for fly fishing. Here in Jacks Point we embrace the lifestyle and enjoy nature.
Access
Guests have access to the full house except one locked hallway cupboard and owners cupboards in the garage. Parking in the garage is not possible but it is available for guests to use for storage of sporting equipment.
Two parking spaces available on the driveway.
Space
The house is split level with 3-4 stairs between the entrance and other areas of the house.
When you walk into this stunning home one of the first things that strikes you is the views. The open plan kitchen, dining & lounge area have windows and sliding doors all sides to take full advantage of these views.
The al fresco area has louvers and side blinds along with a ceiling heater to allow for the use of the area no matter the weather.
The other great feature is the size of the bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a walk in robe along with an ensuite which includes double basins, a toilet, bath & separate shower. There are also sliding doors that open onto a deck with access to the spa pool. Bedroom 2 also has its own ensuite and can be setup with either 2 singles or 1 Superking bed giving you great sleeping options depending on your groups requirements. Bedroom 3 has a Queen bed and shares the main bathroom, Bedroom 4 has a single bed with option of a trundle it also doubles as a study with a work desk in it Please note that Bedroom 2, 3 & 4 have garden views only. There is also a separate powder room next to the main bathroom.
We have a study area with a desk & TV which are in bedroom 4 in case you need to do some work while on holiday or want to send the kids/teenagers off to their own breakaway area.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals at home if you don't wish to head out. And of course we have a Nespresso pod coffee machine for those who need their morning coffee hit.
In addition to the feature gas fire the house has four strategically placed heat pumps to keep the entire home cosy during the winter or cool in the summer months. We also have underfloor heating in the bathrooms.
Note: There is construction happening beside the house.
Transit
It is recommended you have a car but not essential as there is a public bus that runs from Jack Point every hour.
We are approx 10 minutes from the airport and the Frankton shopping district. Less than 5 minutes to the bottom carpark to The Remarkables Ski field and only 20 minutes into downtown Queenstown
Notes
Important: Please note that there is construction happening next door to the house.
The garage is available for guests to park in but can be used for storage of skis, bikes, golf clubs etc. There is ample on-site and off site parking for vehicles.
It is important to read the house rules regarding the spa and that you add the spa sanitiser every night it is being used.
If travelling with small children you do need to supervise them on the decking (there is a drop off) and around in the spa pool. Please note the property is not fully fenced.
We use professional cleaners and hired linen.
Please advise us of your bedding requirements for Bedroom 2 & 4 when booking so we can ensure the house is setup for your needs.
