We are a family of 10 that have rented this condo for several years. This year the dishwasher was not working. The maintenance team tried to fix it, but were unsuccessful. So, we did dishes for 10 people all weekend. I asked for a free late checkout in exchange for the problem dishwasher. I received no response. Also, the condo is still advertising a hot tub to be shared by the 8 units in the building. It is empty and from check in information it appears it wonât be repaired or replaced. We really enjoyed the easy access to the in building hot tub. Smugglers Fun Zone is expensive for what they offer. It is old and tired. Overall we always enjoy our time at Smugglers because we spend most of our time on the slopes.
WARNING!! DO NOT STAY WITHOUT Speaking to a real person:(
Unit was a hazardous construction zone legally unsafe to stay. My elderly mother and I had to find a new place at 5pm on a Friday night and no one helped us! I instantly called VRBO and they blamed the property manager Vacasa. I then called Vacasa directly and they said they would call the local office and get back to us asap! They never called. I called Vrbo again there was a 45 minute wait. After driving five hours I had to leave with my elderly mom and stay at my sisterâs two hours away. No refund or response from VRBO or Vacasa! Paid for a stay that never happened it is not the actual property owners fault because they probably did not know that both VRBO and Vacasa rented out their property during construction:( I took over 30 pictures for proof and have emailed all the evidence to VRBO and they still have not refunded the money:( I would recommend to always speak to a live person and never trust the automated responses because we could enter the property with no issues but it was an unsafe construction zone, thankfully I did not bring my nieces because they would have inhaled toxic construction dust. To this date 5/24/2023 neither VRBO or Vacasa property management have contacted me with an apology or anything. I sent over 10 emails as well and a robotic response was âwe will have someone contact you from the local officeâ and I still have not received a single phone call:( I wanted to wait to review in hopes of VRBO or Vacasa refunding but still not resolved:(
Spotless house! Beds in the four single room were horrendous... you could feel the springs. Location and bus service were amazing. Kitchen could use some baking sheets and more pots and pans. Overall this was a GREAT place.
This place was much bigger than expected which allowed for a great stay. A big kitchen, hallway for ski gear, spacious living room, and a master bathroom our stay here was great. The open concept in this condo was great while cooking meals and being able to communicate with others. Will defitnely be interested in coming back here.
The unit had terrific views of the mountain. Found the unit to be very clean. Lock box / keyless entry was very convenient for a renter. We had a great time and would rent again.
The condo accommodation was excellent. Very clean and spacious and we were most pleased with this.
The biggest problem we had was with the extras you need to pay for at Smugglers Notch and the property staff at the front desk were really not the best at communicating events and things going on around the property. Concerts and events on the green, restaurants options that were open, etc. were not communicated to us until the day before our departure, even though we had checked in there 3 days prior on the very first day we arrived.
Also we purchased the $79-99 per person 1-day pass which gives you access to the Fun Zone and water slides however the card machine at the Fun Zone was broken, the lines were out the door increasing wait times and they had also run out of game prizes for the kids. The swimming reservoir, which took us 20 min hiking through the woods to get to, had a 2.5 hour wait to use the trampoline and the beach was tiny and mobbed with people. We left immediately after finding this out and were so disappointed with this as we wasted so much time⊠and you only get one day to do everything. Which is so ridiculous given the price you pay! Overall seemed like a huge rip off honestly and I would not recommend spending that much again for what you actually get.
Really hoping there will be improvements with the activities next time we go back, otherwise not sure its worth a return trip. But the condo was nice so if you plan to leave Smuggs and do other things you will most likely be pleased.
I was only able to use 2 of the three rooms as there was a flood that kept the floor wet for the whole week. We called many times to address it they came one time after 2 days and vacuumed up some of the water. Said it would be a day till it dried. It only got more soaked and smelled very bad. Also it took them a day to come out and fix a safety issues of the kids room door getting completely stuck so they could not open it. Finally asked the one service man to address the tub in th master bedroom as it was draining so very slow. Never heard from him. I also asked if people were vaccinated when they were coming in , they did not wear masks nor did they ever tell us if there person was vaccinated. Terrible, unsafe and I wand a refund
spacious unit for a group of 5-7 from the mid-atlantic, with thoughtful design elements lie ground level ski storage, lfor putting on/taking off ski gear, wel-equipped kitchen for cooking and hospitality, etc. The on-demand shuttle to Smuggs was awesome! Responsive management when a minor issue arose. My only beef was that the unit had been listed as 5 miles from Stowe - -wrong! For those of us not familiar with the roads, the 5 miles was only in the summer; in thew winter it was about an hour away.
