Due to Maui’s rural atmosphere you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them.

IMPORTANT: Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Hawaii is located in a tropical climate, and insects, rodents and lizards flourish in this environment. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. We were given a great room on the 8th floor with 2 balconies facing the ocean. The ocean access was great for swimming and snorkeling. Both pools were at the perfect temperature with nice features. We actually chose the hotel for the hot tubs close to the beach and used them daily. My only complaint was the lack of maid service. In a humid and sandy environment, we needed a change of towels and a vacuum.

Incredible vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aston Kaanapali Shores. The resort had everything we needed. The pools and hot tubs were great as was the access to the beach. My husband and I loved running on the nearby boardwalk walk. The coffee and food trucks nearby were very convenient and the on-site restaurant was delicious. I found the beds to be very comfortable and the accommodations met my families’ needs wonderfully. We also appreciated the on-site activities and craft fair.

Better than remembered

We stayed at this property 13 years ago, and loved it then. This 2 bedroom 2 bath unit was perfect for our stay this time. Plenty of room, beautiful view of the beach and pool, clean, comfy beds, great closet space, and everything worked perfectly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The host was very communicative and prompt in addressing any questions. The unit we were allocated had awesome ocean views and steps away from the beach. The kids had a blast in the pools. The service staff was also very prompt and took care of things immediately. Definitely will not hesitate to stay here again.

This was our first time in Maui. We had a great ocean view. We were able to use the beach in front of the property as well as within a close drive to other beaches, places to eat, and shopping. Great pool and restaraunt and bar on site.

Overall okay to good.

Positives: Great beach location. Every room has some type of little to big ocean view. Outside grounds are kept well. Towel access was easy. Two pools. Challenges: Checked in at 4pm on a Friday, July 5th and just wanted to get to our room and the room was delayed being ready for about 3 hours. They did give us 5 free drinks, but kids wanted to hit the pool and we wanted to drop off our bags and shower. The garden kids pool was nice but on Friday & Saturday July 5-6th the pool was horrific!!! Smellled, black with dirt, cloudy beyond belief, hair floating, and looked like a black bottom pool. They finally cleaned it on Sunday, July 7th and Monday, July 8th, but it was still cloudy. They need a new chlorine filter system and better pool service. The garden pool is not big enough if the hotel is full. The beds were horrible! Lopsided springing awful. Couch was more comfortable. Ice maker did not work. Called for service for it that never came. No ice makers in the entire hotel!!! Awful!! Hotel operator could barely speak any English. Staffing for the hotel appears bad with qualify of some staff. A lot of older to very old, limiping, to heavy set staff that can barely move. Very little younger staff seen and we stayed Friday to Monday. Overall: decent timeshare price for being close to the beach, having a pool(s), & room with a semi to full ocean view. We may or may not stay here again. This is the third place we have stayed in Kaanapali. Ranking #3 of 3. Just, okay not great.

Maui oceanfront resort

Property is fantastic for vacation getaway. We had a little patio with small ocean view. Stores nearby and sundry shop onsite. Parking easy with fee. Amenities are very nice and layout easy to navigate. Spacious for a family of four. Negative: mold in ceiling above shower is significant and caused a bit of allergy issues for those with allergies in our party. Probably common in tropical environment but significant enough that it mattered.

Really Nice AND needs some updating!

Our family stayed in a 2 bed / 2 bath suite. The layout was great, suite fully stocked for our needs with a lovely ocean view. The decor was older, but was well-maintained. The property amenities (2 pools/rentals/etc.) were great and easily accessed. The narrow beach in front of our hotel was perfect for our needs and for whale watching. The location of the hotel is also great for driving to nearby adventures. We'd stay here again!

We come to Maui 2-3x a year and this is our 4th time staying at this property with our family. Has everything we need from a nice sized unit and kitchen, right on the beach, nice pools, and good restaurant and bar. The staff is really nice and accommodating. We love it!!

had a great visit to KSH. great beach just off the property, enjoyed the pool and Thursday night Hawaiian music. This property was great for our family of 5. The water toy rental place had reasonable rates for boogie boards, and the family took a surf lesson right off the property. Snorkeling on site was so-so for fish but did see a few sea turtles. however, the kitchen was poorly supplied. There were a couple pots for pasta but no skillet (for eggs or grilled cheese), no dish detergent, no broom, no baking sheet. I understand not supplying cooking oil/spices but there should have been more utensils available.

Great property and location

So the pictures online you see of this property are fine but after being there they really don't show how great the property really is. First the location is fantastic. Just down the road from Whaler's village and Lahaina. The onsite restaurant and bar were great. Food truck park just offsite from the property. Super clean. We could not have asked for better accommodations. I highly recommend this property.

Nice resort!

The employees were all pleasant and professional. We understood there would be no maid service and were caught off guard when we realized they had been in our unit while we were gone. The garden pool and hot tube were awesome and not crowded. We saw families with young children having a blast in the pool! The Hawaiian music was a nice touch. We enjoyed the convenience of having a restaurant and bar on-site. The food was pretty good and we definitely enjoyed the Hawaiian cocktails! The beach is somewhat narrow, but fine for our purposes, and what a gorgeous view of the ocean and other islands! Quite beautiful and very well kept grounds. The unit was as the pictures showed except our view of the ocean, which was a narrow view between this resort and the resort next door - disappointing. The kitchen had the basics, but if there’s something you want to prepare you might want to bring the utensils you need. Also, the unit we were in needs some maintenance done - sliding glass doors are hard to open, master bedroom door sticks, bathroom vanity door is coming off the hinges, toilet flapper isn’t working properly, etc. We had to remind ourselves that this isn’t a 4 or 5 star resort. And it wasn’t as clean as we expected, especially for the price. Would we come back? Probably. We had an amazing vacation!

our stay here was amazing we did not enjoy the pool and resort amenities much since we spent more time exploring the Maui area. But would defiantly would go back to this place could use some updating washer and dryer need replacement like asap, they make very load notice. view is great resort people were very friendly. beach area is not big but enough to enjoy pacific ocean. Managing people were super attentive and great communicative .

AMAZING!!!

This was such a wonderful vacation! This condo was perfect for our family of 5. The location great! The room has a breathtaking view and is close to pool/restaurant/beach. It is equipped with everything that you need. We even saw several whales breaching and swimming by since it was March that we went. The communication with the renter was outstanding! She responded with minutes of needed info to communicate. I will stay here again and I recommend this gorgeous place!

Nice property, but not the unit from the photos

This was a great overall property and a great location. Staff is very friendly. My only issue was that when I booked this property from the VRBO listing, I booked what appeared to be Ocean front, 2bd with a king bed. When we checked in, I was sent to an "ocean view" 2 bd with a queen bed. There is also a ton of construction going on and they put us very close to the noise. I went down to the reception and was told that this unit is not the owner's unit and they only guarantee "ocean view" but do not guarantee which unit you will get or the size of the bed. I am sorry but I don't go on a relaxing vacation to be in a tiny bed. The staff was understanding and moved us to a similar unit, with a king and away from the construction but if we didn't say anything, we would have been stuck. Overall, I found the unit ad/post misleading but the property is very nice.

We love this place! Will be back

We loved this place! The balcony has giant sliding doors and the most gorgeous view of the ocean, pool and grounds. Loved that it has an open layout with a fully equipped kitchen. Such a great location - close to local eats and a quick drive over to old Lahaina and other shopping. The children's pool was perfect! There’s a nice shallow area where our toddler could walk around safely and independently and the waterfall / bridge was pretty neat. The food was reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly. We will def be back!

Great Spring Break Gataway

My family and I had a great stay at this property. Just be aware its an older property like most of the properties on the islands but the pictures presented online are nothing like the unit we stayed in for the week. The unit we stayed in was very outdated however it was kept up very well for how old it was. Great service at the property if you need anything. My girlfriend tried to reach out to the property manager before arrival and did not receive a call back but it was easy to check in once you arrived and visited the front desk.

This is the second time I have visited this resort and this visit was great. The site is meticulously maintained and very relaxing. The restaurant had very good food and reasonable prices. The room exceeded my expectations for size, cleanliness and view.

Great Family Vacation

The vacation was great, we had a wonderful time. Easy access to all the activities on the island, great restaurants in the area and loved the services of the property. We would stay here again!
