This property is perfect for a family or friends group! Spacious, lovely view, great amenities! The unit could benefit from a bit of updating but was comfortable and clean.The property management was responsive to requests for assistance, sending a technician out quickly to address an issue with the AC. There were beach chairs, beach towels, and pool floats provided, which was very nice. There were numerous stand fans available if needed. Overall, this was a great place for our ladies’ trip!

The view was absolutely breathtaking. We saw sea turtles every time we looked at the beach from our balcony. How lucky are we! The resort is very easy to get around and in close proximity to businesses in walking distance. We loved the unit itself and was pleasantly surprised that it came fully stocked and anything we could even think to want! It was very clean and appeared remodeled. We were very happy. Thank you for everything!

Perfect space for our family during our 9 night stay! Tons of space to spread out. Fabulous views, tons of turtles and great snorkeling right from the beach. Captain Jack’s was fantastic- the steak wedge salad and chips and guac are my fav. Our group ranged from 17-75 and it was great for all of us.

Wonderful place!

We had such a nice time at Sands of Kahana. The beach was awesome, and had a great time playing in the ocean. There is some great snorkeling to the left of the beach. Spent some time watching sea turtles every day. Kids loved the pool and the smoothies from the restaurant. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The penthouse had plenty of space for all of us, and was clean. They provided lots of beach toys, a wagon, beach towels, coolers, etc. Everything you could need for the perfect beach day.

Spectacular Stay!

Lovely property and great overall experience. We stayed for 11 nights, family of 6. This was our second time at Sands of Kahana and would love to stay in this unit again. Air conditioning kept it cool when needed but mostly we just used the screen door to listen to the waves. Very spacious unit and amazing panoramic views from the top floor where we saw whales (even still in May!) and turtles daily.

Listing says AC but this is not accurate. YhAC is not near enough to keep the rooms below 78-80. They had several temporary units in a couple of rooms. Finally has them deliver another one for the downstairs bedroom. That helped but didn’t install the duct well and it kept putting hot air back in the room. The condo also could use some updating. Location is great and the people we dealt with were very friendly. Just need to invest in the condo for the rate we paid!

Perfect set up for our group of family to stay together. This Penthouse offers a fantastic view and great easy access to a beach. Honestly don’t need to leave this beach it was lovely. But if you do leave coming back is easy and the sunsets are delightful.

Nice accommodations. Nice bathrooms.Needs bathroom cleaning(did our own). Needs upholstery cleaning ( couch and rugs). Needs a air conditioner in back bedroom. Can’t shut door between living room and bedroom. No ac in front bedroom. Some outlets don’t work. Sands of Kahana absolutely wonderful. We have stayed in 4 other condos. They were perfect. The grounds, pool and beach were as usual perfect. Can’t wait to come back to ,The Sands of Kahana!!

Amazing views!

We loved this property and the views that it had! Right up at the tippy top penthouse so you can see so much. Enjoyed watching the whales from the balcony too!. I would recommend remodeling the two bathrooms downstairs but with those views, who cares!

Minor issues with property but overall it was a nice stay Upstairs lanai wasn’t useable Door to downstairs lanai doesn’t open so had to go through bedroom No air conditioning in twin bedroom No walkable beach (100yds only) If you can deal with those issues then it is a perfectly good place to stay.

Great location!

This is our second time staying at the sands of kahana and we absolutely love the location! Amazing views and it's right on the beach! This unit was a little outdated and didn't have some basic things like a broom or cleaning products, so we had to buy our own. I did like that they had a few boogie boards and chairs to use on the beach!

Great location but home could use some TLC.

While we enjoyed our stay in Hawaii we found the property to be a bit dated and overall maintenance is less than stellar. We expected more for the price. When we arrived the internet wifi didn’t work. Password provided was incorrect. We were able to connect after I found the 20 digit default WiFi password. There’s several electrical outlets that don’t work ( 2 in master bedroom just to name one location. There’s an assortment of remotes but 2 of them were missing batteries. The downstairs bedroom has a hole in the wall from the doorknob that a simple doorstop could have prevented. The AC was barely able to keep the unit cool which meant they had to be left running all the time. The sliding door in the downstairs bedroom was very difficult to open and close. The upstairs bath/shower is extremely poor design and quite unsafe. Not suitable for small children or adults with mobility issues.

Pretty nice

A penthouse at the Sands is good for my family because it's 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. That is important for my wife and me, our 2 children and their spouses. And this year we brought my 11 month old granddaughter. We had a lot of fun. But my wife and I stayed in the third bedroom, with two twin beds, kinda funky. The beds were pretty second rate. One of the beds actually slanted, is the floor uneven, or was the box spring just pathetically worn out on one side? The washing machine does not fill with water for a large load. We used a frying pan to add enough water to actually run a normal load of clothes. The kitchen supplies were okay, but no BBQ tools so we had to buy some at Target, which is a bit of a drive from Sands. Only one oven mitt, with a hole in the thumb, no pot holders. No tongs!! The bathrooms were a disappointment. My wife and I used a bathroom with a shower that had no soap holder, so we kept all our stuff on the floor, hey, I've got a real BAD BACK! No enclosure or curtain for the bathtub with a shower in the loft bedroom. The splash created a very serious hazard on the slippery tile steps up to the shower. No bath mats. The master bath tub had no drain stopper, and the shower enclosure was part glass door, part shower curtain...come on, take care of it! Cheesy. Not enough beach towels, there were 4. Shouldn't there be more for a 3 bedroom condo that sleeps 8? What we appreciated: The furnishings were very nice. The coverings of the the skylights are wonderful. The dishes, flatware and knives are much better than SOK standard issue. Sadly, for me this was not a good week. Would not stay in this unit again.

Beautiful, spacious, and amazing view

The penthouse was beautiful! The balcony was practically right over the beach below! The views from the balcony are amazing! In the morning we would have our coffee on the balcony and hear the waves washing on to shore...very peaceful and wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family.
