Stunning ocean views, just steps from lively nightlife and the best of Island fare, this 1 bed, 1 bath, beautifully updated condo awaits you. Enjoy watching boats, paddlers and soothing waves from your lanai, while sipping your morning coffee, or catch the legendary Kona sunset over an evening cocktail. Enjoy a short stroll to shops, restaurants, and a lively farmers market – no need to worry about driving or parking – or venture out to Big Island attractions from a prime location! At the end of the day, relax in the refreshing pool, and take advantage of pool-side BBQ facilities surrounded by lush Island flowers and wildlife.

This second-floor corner unit opens into a bright open floor plan with a living room, dining area, and kitchen. Plantation decor gives the home an island vibe in each room. The living room has a comfortable couch placed in front of a flat screen TV. A single window A/C unit, a washer/dryer, wifi, and a DVD player are provided for your convenience. The couch also functions as a sofa sleeper. You and your guests will enjoy relaxing in here with a movie at night while an ocean breeze flows through the lanai doors.

The quaint kitchen has all appliances a chef could need to cook appetizing meals. You have an option of eating at the built-in breakfast bar for two or the formal dining table with 4 seats. The dining table is situated in front of the lanai. Open the lanai doors to listen to the waves crash. You will be able to witness mesmerizing sunsets over the Kona coast here.

The master bedroom can be closed off for privacy at night. This bedroom is furnished with a luxurious King-sized bed and plenty of closet space. The bathroom is right outside the bedroom. The full bathroom has a standalone shower and a washer/dryer handy for any wet swim suits.

Kona Mansions offers their guests several other amenities to check out during your stay. There is 1 parking space, coin-based laundry facilities, BBQ stations, and an outdoor pool surrounded by lush tropical greenery.

Just right.

This small condo was perfect for us. A great view of the ocean and sunsets. Kitchen had everything we needed. Condo was clean. Bed was comfortable. Items needed for the beach were just what we needed. An easy walk to town, shops and restaurants. A great place to stay.

good unit but very bad booking experience

Pros: - Unit was clean. check-in was smooth, Good communication from property manager Cons: - Apart from all the fees mentioned on the price details page of the listing, there's additional fees added. If this was described on the final price details page, probably I wouldn't have had any issue - Rental agreement which needs to be signed - I wish this should have been presented before I book the unit. Had I read all the terms & conditions & additional fee - I wouldnt have booked this one. - There's a hefty cleaning fee already included but again guest are required to clean dishes, clean trash.. This was all included in the rental agreement which wasn't presented to us before or at the time of booking. Its non-refundable. So I was bound to just sign the rental and stay there. The 2 stars are for the unit which was as described, Pretty good. The low ratings are also for VRBO - they failed to enforce the hosts/property manager's additional requirements at the time of booking. VRBO charged me 69$ service fee and when I asked them about the additional fee, all they did was saying its the property manager who charged this fee & they cant help. Even though the stay was good, overall experience was bad. It was my first booking at Vrbo and will be the last.

Kailua getaway

Started in Hilo and then travelled here for the last few days. After roughing it in the jungle this was a very luxurious stop before our travels home. Snorkeling was amazing, could see whales from our window. Also a submarine came up (for tourists. Close to stores and restaurants. Great location for our daily excursions and we were very happy it had ac.

There was too many personal items from owner in unit to include 7 extra sets of sheets. Items had to be stored in order to use the limited spaces. Cooking utensils below average condition. The bathroom toilet was low to the floor. No lighting in bathroom. Carpets were dirty. The grounds were not taken care of properly to include the pool. Very disappointing.

Great Location in Kailua-Kona

This is a perfect, small condo for an adult couple within walking distance to the center of Kailua-Kona. It had everything we needed, including beach equipment, snorkeling, beach chairs, towels, etc. We loved the view to the ocean and amazing sunsets! There are homeless in the area and an empty lot right next door, so just be sure you lock the security gate.

Cozy central stay in Kailua

The location was superb - walking distance from restaurants in Kailua. The apartment was very nicely decorated and had all amenities we needed. It also included some snorkeling and beach gear you can use. We traveled with our 2 year old son and there was no cot, but the bed was huge and could comfortably fit all of us.

GREAT LOCATION AND VIEW FROM THE BALCONY!!

We chose this condo after reading the reviews about the good location, the view from the balcony, and other amenities. The condo was exactly as advertised via pictures. The decor is tasteful. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils we need to cook some quick meals. The TV does not have Netflix subscribed but we seldom watched TV. The closet in the bedroom has more towels, beach towels, 3 sets of snorkeling tools, beach chairs, and so on. The bathroom had small bottles of shampoos and conditioner, a bar of soap, two bath towels, and a hair dryer. I wish Mr. Mark Espanta of Guest Relations at Grand Welcome did not tell me "There is no hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner listed as an available amenity for this unit. Please see details below and hope this will help you with the luggage packing." !!! Because we always travel light with only carry-on luggage, I would not have had to pack those items had I known they were available. Before checking in, we stopped by Costco near the airport the buy some vegetables, fruits, cheese, and eggs NOT knowing that the fridge did not work properly and was not cool enough to keep the food. I sent a text message to Grand Welcome and received a reply soon. GW requested the on-site team to come in and take a look at the fridge but the man could not fix it. On the second day, we were told he was waiting for approval from the owner about replacing the fridge, and gave us two bags of ice to keep the fridge cool. Well, on the third day we came back to the condo and saw the old fridge was replaced with a working one. Unfortunately, we came back at about 8 pm to a VERY, VERY, VERY hot condo because the air con was turned off even though we left it on at about 80 degrees. It was unbearable for the first hour to stay inside a hot condo like that because it took the air con to run non-stop for about 3 hours to produce a decent temperature. I did notify GW about this and suggested they do not request guests to turn off the air con when leaving the condo but keep it on at about 80 degrees to save energy. In short, we like the condo and the prompt responses from GW before we left for Kona Mansions and while we were there. If we go to Kona again, we will rent this place again!

Thank you so much for having us during our honeymoon! The condo was a wonderful 10 minute walk from beaches, & town. AND an easy (free!) trolley ride to more beaches, & Target! It was nice cooking in the condo & we enjoyed the water filter pitcher. THANKS!!!

Grand Welcome very accommodating when there was an issue


Kona Mansions is in a great location with a well stocked kitchen, nice views, and great pool. Only issue was there was a gas leak in the complex and would not be fixed for several days. Grand Welcome was able to move us to Casa de Emdeko after a couple days and this unit/complex was also very nice, but just a bit farther from town. There is a Kona Trolley stop right in front of the complex, so this made getting to and from town very convenient. We would definitely stay at either place again in the future. Thanks to Grand Welcome for being so helpful and righting the situation.

Nice place, good location

This place was perfect for my solo vacation, just the right size for 1 or 2 people. Well stocked kitchen, and laundry in the apartment, which is so helpful for a beachy vacation. There is really nowhere to sit outside, which is too bad -- but I would return to this property. Unfortunately the management company was very unhelpful. They sent an email asking me to send them my QR code from the Hawaii Safe Travels website, which I did. They never sent my check in info, and I had to contact an after hours receptionist to get into my unit late at night. They continued to ask me to send more and more information, I never got clear instructions from them, and never got my check in info despite 3-4 messages.

Very pleasant stay with nice ocean view, affordable. Apartment/condo complex is well maintained and neighbors are quiet. Had a bit of a problem accessing property as wrong code was provided but was resolved fairly quickly. Recommended!

Kona getaway

This place was cute, cleanly, and had all the utensils you need. There is one wall ac unit which worked pretty well. The area is quite and you have a beautiful view of the ocean and sunsets. Down sides is the laundry in the unit does not work, you have to lug your dirtys up the hill to a coin laundry building, and the hot water was not consistent. Loved our stay and can’t wait for our next trip

Lovely little condo

Location is excellent and very convenient. The condo was very clean, cute, and accommodating—you can see the water from your window! My only two minor complaints are that it was difficult to find the information about parking initially, and that Grand Welcome sent me so many emails (like 1-2 per day). But the actual stay was fabulous.
