Liked the retro feel of the room. It was very comfortable and clean. But because it’s an older hotel, I could hear the air conditioner in the rooms next to me however, I still got a good night’s sleep. Great location.

Staff was very nice. Unfortunately, there were problems with our room—shower was not great, missing smoke detector, weird smell coming from the AC unit, bad mattress, and noisy — the walls are so thin, you could hear the squeaky bed activity in the room next to us. We could also hear the neighbors talking.

The hotel rate was $67 for those days and you charged us $448 for three days. The office was not open in the property. We had to walk down two blocks to best western to check in. The breakfast was not available at the property and for that we had to walk two blocks to best western in cold. We were told that if we needed towels, we had to go to best western and get them ourselves. The bathroom was so small that you couldn’t even take a shower properly. It was not worth the money. On hotels.com site it was listed for $67 and the person at the desk told us that hotel.com is charging too much. It was really horrible experience.

Looked rTher run down and no one in office. Note has us go couple doors down to sister hotel, the Best Western for check in. That staff was wonderful, great information on a handout of passwords, ice, etc. To our surprise and pleasure, the room was retro, but clean, comfortable and well appointed with all we needed. We will stay here again.

Room is cute & comfortable. They were short-staffed so I had to walk almost a block to check-in at another hotel which was owned by the same people, then walk back to my room. It was challenging to get the shower water at the right temperature, but after a few minutes, it was fine. Breakfast was included & also served at the other hotel. I also checked out at the other hotel.

Good deal for the price. The amenities next door are nice but, No office and no microwave because its in the office. Which isn't available because there is no staff. Have to walk to the next block to have breakfast, and use the pool and hot tub and personnel lobby. A/C in room 19 was extremely loud and ran almost non stop. The bed, the TV and fridge were nice.

So Much Potential

The Aiken's Lodge is a great historic motel in downtown Kanab. Best Western apparently owns it now and is running it into the ground. No reception, pool in disrepair, breakfast is at the BW, not the Aiken's. The electricity is spotty. Needs some investment to make it what it once was. Could be so much more than what it is today.
