Avoid at All Costs – Filthy, Mismanaged, and Deceptive
If I could give zero stars, I would. My two-night stay at Baymont by Wyndham Kansas City KU Medical Center was a disaster. This hotel does not prioritize cleanliness, customer service, or maintenance.
The front desk staff was dismissive and unprofessional. When I voiced concerns at checkout, I was told that since the hotel is “affordable,” I shouldn’t have expected more—completely unacceptable!
The issues were endless:
No front desk service – Calls from the room went unanswered or straight to voicemail.
Room was never cleaned – No fresh towels, no trash emptied, nothing. I was only told at checkout that cleaning was “by request.”
Heating system malfunctioned – It fluctuated between freezing and boiling with no control.
Filthy floors – Dirt tracked from the bed to the bathroom.
No pillows available – How does a hotel run out of pillows?
Shower was disgusting – The head was clogged and grimy, causing inconsistent pressure.
Dim bathroom lighting & no desk lamp bulb – When reported, I was told maintenance would “handle it tomorrow.” We were expected to sit in the dark.
Strong odor in hallways and room.
Broken USB ports & deceptive advertising – The Expedia photos looked nothing like the actual room.
We took photos as proof, but the review form didn’t allow uploads. Avoid this place at all costs!
