We booked a room as a layover on our way through Missouri. We arrived late at night, and left before 6am. Though we'd fully paid on Hotels.com, when we made the reservation, the clerk ran a credit card for $100. I though it was a hold, for incidentals, but we were charged the full $100.
The room wasn't quiet or comfortable, which is why we left with 6 hours of sleep. It had a very strong flowery smell, the temp control didn't seem to work (it was cold and humid), and there was an inch gap under the hallway door - through which we heard hallway conversations and saw the bright hall light all night.
