Our second stay at the Islander on the Beach and hopefully we get more opportunities to stay again! One stay was booked directly and the other via a VRBO, both we great. The short minute walk to the beach is fabulous with nice sand and shade trees. There are beach chairs available to first come, first serve. However, the beach chairs are an area of feedback, many were broken or damaged.
Our room was competent with a mini-fridge, sink, dishes, and plenty of room for our clothes. Our room had uncomfortable chairs on the lanai. Others appeared to have much better seating depending on owners I bet. It was frustrating that construction was happening right outside our room most of the time we were there with a lot of noise and workers not far from our window.
Be sure to check out local recommendations for food as the typical big tourist places aren't the best food. The Sleeping Giant Grill had great food and was nearby. We enjoyed the included bike rentals for a beautiful, fun bike ride up the coastline trail too. Kaua'i Backcountry is a must do with both zip lining and tubing we did; their staff is the best.
Requested for 2 double beds but was given 1 double bed and sofa bed.Assigned in a room located on 3rd floor but there was no elevator.Carrying heavy luggages on the stairs is not safe.
We requested two double beds and when we got there, they gave us a king bed and a sofa pullout. The sofa was really uncomfortable, and the front desk was not accommodating. Also, the beach was not very good for swimming, but that wasnât listed in the description of the property. He ended up leaving a day early and spent one of the other nights in Poipu. Overall, I wouldnât stay there again.
