Summary:

Start with a Kauai sunrise by the water, just a two-minute walk from this Salt and Palms condo at Plantation Hale on the Coconut Coast. The one-bedroom home sleeps four with a king bed and queen sleeper sofa, making it an easy choice for a small family that wants beach time, pool time, and Kapaa's local shops and restaurants within reach. Spend the day on the east shore, then come back to three community pools, two hot tubs, and grilling stations tucked among the palms. Lihue airport is a quick drive away, which makes arrival and departure days feel less like a chore. Air conditioning, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and beach gear take care of the practical details. Best for a couple or small family ready to make the most of Kauai's laid-back east side.



The Space:

This one-bedroom, one-bath condo sleeps four with a king bed in the bedroom and a queen pullout in the living area. Modern finishes mingle with eclectic pieces from Kauai artists and antique shops, giving the interior a personal island feel. The full kitchen and dining space cover meals at home, while air conditioning and washer and dryer make the space comfortable for a longer visit. Beach gear is ready for the short walk to the ocean.



Guest Access:

This Plantation Hale condo gives guests access to the shared pool and hot tub, plus a private entrance and lit path to the door at night. Beach access, on site parking, and laundry facilities round out an easy Kapaa stay.



The Neighborhood:

Kapaa is the heart of Kauai's Coconut Coast, with a shoreline path, local restaurants, and small-town shops that make an east-side stay feel easygoing. Ke Ala Hele Makalae runs along the coast for walks and bike rides, while Lae Nani Beach gives you a pretty place to stop near the water. The Wailua River is nearby for kayaking, and Lihue airport is an easy drive. Choose Kapaa for a central Kauai base with sunrise views and a more local rhythm than the resort areas.



Getting Around:

Kapaa sits along Kauai's Royal Coconut Coast, about 15 to 20 minutes from Lihue Airport. A rental car is recommended for exploring the island, though the main strip along Kuhio Highway is walkable, with beaches, shops, restaurants, and the popular coastal path all within easy reach on foot. Grocery stores and casual dining are close by. Parking is generally available at condos and along the street, making this an easy, low stress base.

Awesome stay!

Rental home was great, very clean and well kept. Overall was awesome with a few quirks — the internet speed was slow, less than 1 mbps and the check in/out process requires communication with the front desk, so MAKE SURE you arrive and leave at times when the front office is open, from 7AM to 8:30PM.

Would stay here again!

Check-in and checkout couldn't have been easier. The property was clean. We found the bed and sofabed to be comfortable. The AC worked great and, thankfully, was very quiet. Plenty of towels were provided. The water pressure was great. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything we needed for cooking. We appreciated the clean pool and nearby grills (propane and charcoal). We were very comfortable and have no complaints!

Staying here was absolutely wonderful! It had everything we needed and then some, I ended up packing even more than I needed because they offered so many supplies there. We cooked all our meals at home and there were plenty of dishes and gadgets to make this possible and it was manageable with the kitchen size. It was very centrally located which was good as we walked most places because we did not have a car and it was a mile to a beach in any direction. I absolutely loved it and there is plenty to do! The place was spotlessly clean and absolutely gorgeous when we arrived. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Great condo in a central location

We enjoyed our stay at Plantation Hale E3. The room had everything we needed, including plenty of extra towels and sheets, beach chairs, beach towels, and an umbrella. Even a couple of ice packs in the freezer made our time in the room a breeze! Love that it gave us the ability to see all sides of the island without having to drive crazy far. And easy access to the beach was a perk! The only issues we had were getting into the room when we arrived, and the key stopped working the night before we left. Thankfully management was able to get us back in quickly.

Appropriately priced, fabulously located!

The east coast is the perfect place to stay on Kauai, especially with a family, and I think it doesn’t get much better than this exact spot! Perfectly centrally located. And because this was the absolute most affordable location that offered a full kitchen, it was a perfect fit for this single momma & her babies. Close to grocery stores & a pharmacy. Walking distance from a beautiful (though rocky surf) beach. Smack at the start of the Kauai Bike/multi-purpose path, which is the most beautiful place I’ve ever run in my life! The plywood wall obstructing the view of the ocean was a bit disappointing, and the park is just an open field, but again, priced totally appropriately. The queen mattress was not exceptionally soft, so if you appreciate a firmer mattress, this one’s for you! Bring a sleep mask if you’re a crappy sleeper like me & can’t sleep with light, because there are no black out curtains here. And bring your USB power bricks, because they only have two outlets that don’t require them. But the condo was great! All the right amenities. First floor, which is super handy with kids & hauling stuff in & out. Camping chairs & insulated lunch box with freezer packs, to bring a picnic anywhere you go. Everything you’d need in the kitchen! (Except sanitizing wipes: maybe pick those up at the store on your way in.) Oversized, super soft beach towels came in clutch & they offer plenty of pillows & linens to stay clean and cozy. It was very clean, very comfy, adorably furnished, and I’d stay there again! (With ear plugs & a sleep mask.😁) The owners seem absolutely darling! They were so thoughtful! Left welcome gifts, a personalized card, local goodies/snacks, and even a gift card for the best shaved ice shop around! All the art is their daughter’s photography that I would have thought they bought from an interior design store! If you’re going to be critical or have a discerning eye for the most updated place in town, go stay somewhere on which you’ll spend a sizable portion of your kids’ college funds 😉 & don’t damage the awesome rating of this cute place and these sweet owners with anything less than 5 stars. But if you’re a mainland dweller like me, who is positively giddy just to be crashing beachside in paradise for a while, this is 100% the place! I’m thrilled with our memories & wish we were still there!
