How close is Hotel Nepal Tara to downtown Kathmandu?
The first room they showed me to had a bad smell coming out of the bathroom. Thankfully they gave me a different room when I asked. Burns on the carpet. Chinese-owned and -managed.
I booked a room for 3 adults with 3 beds. Upon arrival they gave us a room with only two beds and said they did not even have a room for 3 adults. They offered to give us two rooms, but the other rooms had old carpet and well musty smelling. Food menu only in Chinese too. Staff tried to be accommodating, but hotel is simply not up to my expectations, or the description on expedia.
Hotel Tara Nepal is in the heart of Thamel, right off a busy street. While it is convenient to access a lot of shops and markets in the area, the noise is higher than we would have liked, especially constant honking most of the night.
