The Dairy Cottage was as described in the listing. It was very clean, well equipped with all the basics, and perfectly located to explore the region. Also, walk the neighborhood- we did and ended up having many wonderful conversations. Heartily recommend!
We enjoyed our stay in a lovely cottage, surrounded by beautiful scenery in a lovely village and right next door to a friendly hotel serving delicious meals. Laura and the girls were excellent hosts. Its a perfect base for trips out and
walks.
The property is a lot bigger than the photos portray. Very spacious. There were also two single beds as well as a double in the area upstairs. Very tranquil surroundings. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Overall the cottage was as described. Cosy in winter too.
Good place to stay to explore the area. Dog friendly too with an enclosed field behind the cottage to let pooch run around in.
Perfect property for our dog. No enclosed garden but easy access to an enclosed field for dog walkers. Cottage was very comfortable but for me it would have been better if there had been a dishwasher instead of a washing machine which is why I deducted a star.
The property was fine just in need of a really good clean to get rid of multiple spiders and their webs. A few pictures on the wall would have made it more homely, and a bit more information about the area would have been good.
Return visit for us, it's a super cottage with everything needed for a great self catering stay. Bottle of wine and milk in fridge a very nice welcome touch. Situated in a lovely village in the heart of the beautiful border country, perfect location for touring or walking or simply relaxing . The hotel next door serves great food and is reasonably priced. There is an excellent community shop in the village too, stocking fresh bread and morning rolls. Totally recommend the Old Dairy Cottage
Lovely cottage, comfortable and well equipped also very clean. Beautifully situated in a pretty village and next to The Templehall Hotel. We collected the key from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very handy being able to eat there, food very good. The area is stunning, beautiful rolling hills and interesting villages. We would definitely return to the cottage and the area.
Terrific property, has everything needed for a great stay. Bed was so comfortable and the cottage was immaculately cleaned . The wine, milk and biscuits were a delightful surprise. Beautiful area to explore both on the doorstep and further afield. We enjoyed visiting the Great Scottish Tapestry exhibition in Galashiels. Good to visit Kelso, Jedburgh and the Born in Scotland experience . You can see video footage there of nearby osprey's nest , which had two eggs . Also has a cafe , shop and brewery . Cottage is on the doorstep of St Cuthbert's way and also the gorgeous nearby river, so super walking area. We had a brilliant relaxing time, absolutely loved it. One small suggestion, local visitor information would be good. We knew the area , but for those who don't , it would be useful. We also enjoyed a super meal in the hotel next door. Everything was really great, including our weather. Would totally recommend this lovely property and we will definitely look forward to coming back again. Thank you .Mary and Eric
The cottage was easy to find using the host's directions. It was well resourced, beautifully clean and comfortable and the fridge was ready stocked with milk, juice and wine along with a complimentary box of shortbread and bag of sweets. A great touch and appreciated by all. The location is very rural and quiet. We heard woodpeckers every day, the pub hotel next door was very child friendly and hospitable, great food and a lovely host who made us feel very welcome. My son even got an Easter egg from her! There is a small shop in the village which sells basics, and Kelso isn't too far away and has a great choice of places to eat plus larger supermarkets if needed. Lots of places of historical interest to visit, in a really unspoilt and beautiful setting. There are local walks literally on the doorstep, so much to see and do. The cottage was a lovely place to stay and we will definitely return.
